CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Honda Ridgeline
overall

Summary
With 1,389 currently listed for sale and an average price of $36,954, 33.6% of 2025 Honda Ridgelines for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Honda Ridgeline 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
92.8% of 2025 Ridgeline models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
Honda takes a different approach to midsize pickup trucks, and the 2025 Honda Ridgeline stands out for that reason. Instead of following the traditional truck formula, it uses crossover-like unibody construction and clever storage solutions, which help make it easier to live with than many rivals. It also comes with standard all-wheel drive, and its comfortable ride and great handling add to its everyday appeal.
That same approach comes with tradeoffs. The 2025 Honda Ridgeline does not offer the towing capacity or off-road capability of more traditional trucks, and its technology is described as outdated. Even so, for buyers who want a midsize pickup that emphasizes comfort and usability over ruggedness, the Ridgeline’s distinctive setup is its main advantage.

Reviewed a 2025 Honda Ridgeline on Oct 31, 2025
I started my truck search looking at full-size trucks, but honestly didn’t want the exterior size to be that big. Just on a side, have you noticed how a lot of the worst drivers on the road are driving the big full-size trucks? I didn’t know the purpose of having a Hemi to actually run people off the road. You know what I mean? That dude is barreling down the interstate doing about 87mph pulling a big @$$ box trailer and he’s like fish tailing all over the place? Back to the review. I drove a Jeep Gladiator, a Tacoma, a Colorado and the Nissan Frontier. The Gladiator was almost scary on the highway. Lots of wind noise and blowing me all over the place even at the lower highway speeds around 55-60mpg. For that reason, it didn’t make sense to me as a daily driver on paved roads. While the new Colorado and Tacoma have that brawny stance, neither of them have a V6. What’s the deal with the 4 banger turbo thing? It’s like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that old Christmas movie, “Jingle All The Way.” “I have to get the “Turbo Man!!” What they are not telling you about the 4 cylinder turbo stuff is that even if a 4 cylinder engine has the power of Ivan Drago in Rocky 4, it is working harder to produce that power compared to the naturally aspirated V6. Multiple mechanics I know personally have said the same thing. Inside, both Tac and Colorado were small and cramped. At first glance, you think they are going to be bigger inside then they are. This was disappointing and strange given how the outside is larger than their prior generations. An odd tech. thing about the Colorado was that you actually turn the headlights on using the touch screen. I also thought that the inside materials in the Colorado felt cheap. That glossy plastic stuff if you know what I mean. I liked the tow rating, but decided to keep shopping. The Frontier was actually my second favorite truck behind the Ridgeline. The naturally aspirated V6 instead of the turbo was already setting it above the other trucks. Then, I drove the Ridgeline and it was like Wow!! This thing rocks!! Honda’s proven reliable V6, smooth driving, yet flexible enough on the dirt or gravel roads, I can fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed because there’s no stupid wheel well hump. I absolutely love the tailgate swing out! It gets my body closer to whatever goods I am lifting out of the back instead of having to lean forward. Honda nailed it with this feature! Plus, let me just say that Ridgeline’s interior almost feels like a full size truck. I have tall teenage boys and the first thing they said when they got in the Ridgeline was “Wow dad!! This is nice and big inside!” Plus, as roomy as it is, I like that Ridgeline fits in a standard garage space too! If you get heavy rains, or it happens to snow, it’s nice to be covered when you want to be. You’ve got drive settings for different terrain and that suits my needs. Another reviewer said the Ridgeline meets the needs of 80% of people driving trucks and he nailed it with that statement. it’s absolutely true. A lot of people are driving big trucks and Jeeps and they never actually use them for the purpose they are intended for. You have those folks that don’t actually need 4 wheel drive. If you’re like me, you want a truck that gives you the utility you need, want to grab some landcape supplies, sheet goods, farm or garden stuff, and rides awesome on both paved and gravel or dirt roads, this is the truck for you. Don’t you love these guys with Jeep fantasies that make stupid videos criticizing Honda trying to create skepticism like…. “Can it do any serious off roading?” You can’t criticize it for something it’s not designed for. If you want a rock crawler you get a Jeep or something similar (locking differential, higher ground clearance, a lift, bigger rubber etc,).

How much does the 2025 Honda Ridgeline cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $36,946 |
| Year-Round Low | $36,848 |
| Year-Round High | $39,816 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $39,814 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.20% |
Prices have softened 7.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,407 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.
The Ridgeline’s appeal comes from its unibody construction, standard all-wheel drive, comfortable ride, and great handling, which make it easier to live with than many midsize pickups. It is especially well suited to you if you want truck utility with a more car-like daily driving experience.
The main trade-offs are limiting towing capacity for a midsize pickup and outdated technology. Even so, 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Ridgeline’s reliability case is helped by Honda’s reputation for straightforward engineering, plus the model’s emphasis on comfort, usability, and a no-nonsense interior. Its smooth V6 and nine-speed automatic are described as an excellent combination, and the truck’s refinement helps it feel solid in everyday use.
Honda’s warranty coverage includes a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is that its age and limited towing and off-road capability may leave you wanting more if your needs grow beyond daily-driver truck duty.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a truck that may have been used for work, towing, or outdoor recreation. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, interior wear, and signs that the truck’s practical features have been heavily used.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Ridgeline’s trims differ in appearance and equipment, with the TrailSport adding off-road-focused hardware and the Black Edition sitting at the top of the range. The base Sport is the least equipped, and SiriusXM is not standard on it.
- Powertrain: Every 2025 Ridgeline uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic and standard AWD. The V6 is smooth and responsive, but the engine start-stop system can feel slow.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation. The lack of a 360-degree camera is a notable gap.
- Infotainment: Every model gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The system is functional, but the graphics and screen size feel dated compared with some rivals.
- Fuel efficiency: Most models return an EPA-rated 21 mpg combined, 18 mpg city, and 24 mpg highway.
Which 2025 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, TrailSport, and Black Edition.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Ridgeline’s core strengths: standard AWD, the V6 powertrain, and the practical cabin layout. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and don’t need extra luxury or appearance upgrades.
- RTL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without moving all the way to the top of the range. It suits you if you want a more polished daily driver.
- TrailSport: This is the trim to choose if you want the Ridgeline’s off-road-focused setup, including all-terrain tires, unique suspension tuning, and a front skid plate. It is the right pick if you like the idea of a more adventurous look and feel, but it still isn’t a hardcore off-roader.
- Black Edition: This is the range-topping choice, and it adds the most upscale presentation along with the richest equipment mix. It makes the most sense if you want the most premium Ridgeline experience.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you get a strong safety baseline no matter which trim you choose.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Ridgeline?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,407 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $36,848, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?
The current average of $36,946 sits slightly below last year's $39,814.
That price movement suggests the Ridgeline has softened enough to create a better entry point for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to drift down. The truck’s practical strengths and broad appeal should help support demand, especially among shoppers who want comfort and usability over ruggedness.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Ridgeline safe?
The 2025 Honda Ridgeline earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, in frontal crash tests, and in side crash tests, and it earns a four-star rating in rollover testing.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Road Departure Mitigation. The system is broad and useful, though the lack of a 360-degree camera is a missed opportunity.
IIHS testing also shows some nuance: the Ridgeline earns a Good score in the updated side crash test and the original moderate front overlap test, an Acceptable score in the small overlap front test, and a Marginal rating for headlights.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.20% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It carries over the 2024 updates and keeps the Ridgeline’s comfort-first, easy-to-live-with character.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $34,709, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $36,946 average.
- It adds a new TrailSport trim and practical updates that make the truck more appealing.
The bottom line: If you want the most current version of the Ridgeline with strong market availability and a softened price trend, the 2025 is the cleaner choice. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up some of the current-year pricing context, the 2024 is the better value path.
