How much does the 2025 Honda Civic Type R cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 319 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic Type R a good car?

The 2025 Honda Civic Type R stands out because it takes the familiar Civic formula and turns it into a serious front-wheel-drive performance car. Honda’s hot hatch has been refined over more than 25 years of development, and this version is described as the most accomplished one yet. It keeps the manual-transmission tradition alive, which adds to its appeal for enthusiasts, and its styling is still unmistakably Type R thanks to the big rear wing, deep meshed grille, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

For you, that means a performance car that still aims to be usable every day, with a strong mix of driver involvement and modern convenience. The tradeoff is that some interior trim still shows budget roots, and the bright red seats will not suit everyone. 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is a meaningful share of market-friendly options if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic Type R reliable?

The 2025 Honda Civic Type R is presented as a durable and usable performance car, though you should still watch for signs of hard use, worn tires and brake pads, and damaged bodywork. It keeps the manual-transmission tradition alive and pairs its performance hardware with everyday usability, which makes it appealing if you want a car that can handle regular driving as well as spirited runs.

For a used buyer, the main long-term ownership risk is that performance-oriented examples may have been driven hard, so condition matters more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic Type R?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a close inspection of the tires, brakes, and bodywork. Because this is a performance model, signs of hard use matter more than they might on a standard commuter car. Pay extra attention to overall condition, since a clean-looking listing can still hide wear from aggressive driving.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic Type R's resale value?

The current average of $47,354 sits slightly above last year's $47,228.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. You are not looking at a model with sharp depreciation pressure in this snapshot, so a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to position in the used market. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a solid chance of preserving value.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic Type R or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right path if you want the latest version of this Type R formula and you value a stable price trend with a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner example at a lower asking price.
