CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Honda Civic
overall

Summary
With 4,443 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,664.00, 31.8% of 2025 Honda Civics for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Honda Civic 4.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
86.7% of 2025 Civic models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Honda Civic stands out as a mid-cycle refresh that brings subtle but meaningful updates to a compact car that was already well regarded, while also expanding the powertrain lineup for the 11th generation. Honda has also divided the Civic lineup by powertrain, and this review focuses on the gas-only Civic, which is offered in LX and Sport trims or as the Civic Si. That setup helps make the car feel more clearly tailored to different buyers, from newcomers looking for an affordable sedan or hatchback to driving enthusiasts interested in the Si.
What makes the 2025 Honda Civic especially appealing is its balance of everyday usability and driver involvement. The car is described as fun to drive, and a manual transmission is available, which will matter to shoppers who still want a more engaging compact car. Google Built-In is also available, adding a modern tech advantage. At the same time, the Civic has a few limitations: all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual is lacking some user-friendly features. Even so, the overall package remains broad in appeal, with the Civic Si earning a strong recommendation for enthusiasts and the base Civic positioned as a solid choice for affordable transportation.

The Civic SI is a blast to drive. The suspension is crazy in it. It is quick and nimble with plenty of mods you can do to make it even faster. Very comfortable ride even though it has the sorry suspension.

How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $25,615 |
| Year-Round Low | $25,219.07 |
| Year-Round High | $26,767.82 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $26,767 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −4.30% |
Prices have softened 4.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 4,657 listings available, which suggests solid inventory availability.
If you find a listing below $25,219.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.
It’s positioned as a broad-appeal compact car that still feels engaging to drive, and the gas-only lineup is split to better match different buyers, from affordable daily transportation to the enthusiast-focused Si. The expert review also highlights a manual transmission option and Google Built-In as meaningful advantages.
The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual setup lacks some user-friendly features.
With 32.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Civic is described as a well-regarded compact car that gets a mild refresh while keeping the formula that already worked. Honda also updated key driver-assistance behavior and improved the collision-mitigation system’s ability to detect bicycles and motorcycles, which supports confidence in everyday use.
The expert review also notes that the Civic’s updated systems are smoother than before, even if lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive at times. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core package and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained and driven in good condition.
What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are common but not universal. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing, especially if you’re considering a manual-transmission car or one that has seen heavy commuting use. Focus on overall condition, since the Civic’s appeal depends on both its daily usability and how well the equipment has been kept up.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The gas-only lineup is split between LX, Sport, and Civic Si, and the base car gets standard LED headlights and daytime running lights, while the Si adds a sportier look with a honeycomb grille texture and red interior accents.
- Powertrain: The base car uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque; the LX and Sport use a CVT, and the Si uses a six-speed manual.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard, with improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist; the system is standard across the lineup.
- Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system.
- Fuel efficiency: The LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined, while the Civic Si is rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.
Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest starting price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience with standard LED lighting and the base 7-inch touchscreen, making it the best fit if affordability matters most.
- Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the LX without moving into enthusiast territory. It keeps the everyday Civic formula but adds a little more presence and is aimed at shoppers who want a more dressed-up version of the standard car.
- Civic Si: This is the one to buy if you want the most engaging gas Civic. It adds the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, larger touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, Bose audio, and the digital instrument cluster, making it the best-value trim for driving enthusiasts.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you’re not giving up the core safety package by choosing the lower trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.
- Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 4,657 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.30% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 87.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,219.07, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $25,615 sits slightly below last year's $26,767.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale performance will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone. Well-equipped versions with stronger enthusiast appeal should be easier to move than plain commuter-spec examples.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?
Both the 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics for 2025, and the suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system is enhanced this year to better detect bicycles and motorcycles and to respond more smoothly in traffic and on hills.
One caveat is that lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, so you may notice more steering-wheel vibration than you’d like in some situations.
Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.30% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Honda’s 2025 refresh adds subtle styling updates, broader powertrain separation, and improved driver-assistance behavior.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $25,318, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,615 average.
- It delivers an affordable, enthusiast-focused setup with a manual transmission and front-wheel drive.
Consider the 2026 if:
- It carries over unchanged while continuing to offer broad body-style and powertrain choice.
The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this Civic generation with updated safety behavior and strong market availability, the 2025 is the primary path to shop. If your priority is saving a little money, the 2024 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2026 makes sense if you’re comparing carryover examples and find a cleaner or better-equipped listing.
