How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 3.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,902 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Civic is positioned as a mid-cycle refresh of an already well-regarded compact car, and it keeps the formula focused on everyday usability with driver appeal. It is described as fun to drive, and the gas-only lineup gives you a straightforward choice if you want an affordable sedan or hatchback, with the Civic Si singled out for driving enthusiasts.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual transmission lacks some user-friendly features. Even so, 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests you have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic is presented as a refined update to a proven compact-car formula, and the expert review emphasizes that Honda has improved the lineup without losing its core strengths. The gas-only Civic also benefits from a straightforward powertrain setup, which can make ownership easier to understand and compare across trims.

The expert review also notes that the Civic’s operation is forgiving and user-friendly, especially for drivers who want an engaging car without a steep learning curve. Honda’s updated driver-assistance tuning and smoother adaptive cruise behavior add to the sense that this model year was engineered to feel more polished in daily use.

If you plan to buy used, the main long-term risk is choosing a car that has been driven hard or modified, so a careful inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a Civic Si or any car with a manual transmission. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear from commuting or spirited driving, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only Civic lineup is split into LX, Sport, and Civic Si, and the base trims are simpler than the Si. You get LED headlights and daytime running lights across the lineup, but the Si adds a more aggressive look, special interior accents, and a sportier presentation that sets it apart.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and a six-speed manual. The base LX and gas-only Sport use a CVT, while the Si is manual-only.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, and the updated system improves collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The lane-keeping system can still feel a bit aggressive, so test it on your own route if possible.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. Lower trims get wired smartphone projection instead.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined. The Civic Si is rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the best-value choice if you want the most affordable gas Civic and the strongest efficiency. It gives you the core Civic experience without paying for the extra equipment that comes with the higher trims.
• Sport: This trim makes sense if you want a little more equipment and a step up from the base model without jumping all the way to the Si. It sits between the LX and the enthusiast-focused model, so it is the middle-ground pick for shoppers who want a bit more presence.
• Civic Si: This is the trim to buy if you want the most engaging Civic in the gas lineup. It adds the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, larger touchscreen, Google Built-In, Bose audio, wireless smartphone projection, and the 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, making it the clear enthusiast choice.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,902 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,133, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,133 sits slightly below last year's $25,933.

That softer pricing can help you buy more efficiently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. If you buy at the right number and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the updated suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist. The system also improves detection of bicycles and motorcycles and better handles cross traffic from the left or right.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, with steering-wheel vibration that may bother some drivers.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 refresh adds subtle styling updates, expanded powertrain choices, and improved driver-assistance tuning.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $24,831, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,133 average.
• It offers a proven, enthusiast-friendly formula with a manual transmission and strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $26,897, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $25,133 average.
• It continues the Civic’s broad lineup with a more polished feel and premium interior materials.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this compact car and like the current market pricing, the 2025 is the best all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense only if you want to pay more for the newer model-year position.
