How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 4.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,304 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Civic’s appeal comes from its broad range of personalities: the gas-only lineup is split by powertrain, and the base Civic is positioned as a strong choice for new drivers and anyone seeking an affordable sedan or hatchback. It is also described as fun to drive, with a manual transmission available and Google Built-In available.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual misses some user-friendly features. Even so, the market signal is healthy, with 32.9% of listings priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic builds on a well-regarded compact-car formula, and the refresh adds updated driver-assistance behavior and improved crash performance. Honda also says the collision-mitigation braking system is better at detecting bicycles and motorcycles, while adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist were updated for smoother operation.

The performance side supports everyday dependability too: the base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, and the Civic Si’s turbocharged engine is paired with a light clutch and agreeable shifter action. If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is choosing a car whose condition or maintenance history has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free listings are strong but not universal. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible wear, and focus on how the car drives, brakes, and responds to steering inputs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only Civic lineup is divided by powertrain, with LX and Sport trims plus the Civic Si. The base Civic gets standard LED headlights and daytime running lights, but the Si adds a more aggressive look, a new honeycomb grille texture, red interior accents, and a dedicated 18-inch wheel design.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT. The Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque and comes only with a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics. It includes updated collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist, with improved detection and smoother operation for 2025. Lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive.
• Infotainment: The standard setup is a 7-inch touchscreen, but the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. The Si also adds a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 32 mpg city, 41 highway, and 36 combined. The Civic Si is EPA-rated at 27 mpg city, 37 highway, and 31 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest starting price and the best fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience with standard LED lighting and the base 7-inch touchscreen, making it the best fit for budget-focused shoppers and new drivers.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the LX without moving into enthusiast territory. It keeps the gas-only Civic formula but adds a little more presence and is the middle-ground choice for shoppers who want a more dressed-up daily driver.
• Civic Si: This is the best-value trim for drivers who want the most engaging Civic. It adds the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, the Bose audio system, and the larger digital cluster, making it the clear pick for enthusiasts.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,304 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,226, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $25,432 sits slightly below last year's $26,491.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, which can make future resale a little more competitive for sellers. If you buy well now, you may have less room for appreciation later, but you also reduce the risk of overpaying at the start.

The Civic’s broad appeal helps support demand, especially because it offers both everyday practicality and enthusiast-friendly versions. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system was updated for smoother operation, but lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive with its corrections.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 update brings subtle styling changes, expanded tech, and improved driver-assistance behavior.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $25,159, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $25,432 average.
• It delivers affordable performance with a manual transmission and strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It carries over unchanged after the 2025 update.
• It remains a polished, satisfying compact car with broad appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this Civic with updated tech and safety tuning, the 2025 is the better primary choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter price-sensitive path, while the 2026 makes sense only if you find a compelling listing and want the latest model-year badge.
