How much does the 2025 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 13.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,605 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare across trims and conditions.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL stands out as a full-size SUV built around space, flexibility, and a wide spread of powertrain choices. Its long-wheelbase design adds more than a foot between the front and rear axles, which translates into extra room for third-row passengers and a larger cargo area. It also offers three powertrain options, all paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, including a standard 5.3L V8, an optional 6.2L V8, and an optional 3.0L Duramax turbo diesel engine. That combination makes the Yukon XL appealing to you if you need a large SUV that can be configured for family duty, towing, or long-distance efficiency.

For 2025, GMC also broadened the Yukon XL’s appeal with updates to the lineup and cabin. The base trim was renamed Yukon Elevation, the AT4 Ultimate was added, and the Denali Ultimate gained woodland mahogany full-grain leather seating surfaces. Night Vision also became available, helping the driver detect people or animals in the dark. The infotainment system with Google Built-In was enlarged to 16.8 inches, and the optional Duramax turbo-diesel engine’s power rose from 277 to 305 horsepower. Those changes reinforce the Yukon XL’s position as a premium, tech-forward large SUV.

32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests you have room to shop selectively without waiting for a rare bargain.

Is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

For long-term ownership, you should expect the usual large-SUV tradeoffs to matter more than in smaller vehicles, especially if you plan to rack up miles or use it for heavy family and cargo duty.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing’s condition matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, suspension, electronics, and interior wear, since those are the areas where a large, heavily used SUV can show its age first. If you’re comparing multiple examples, focus on maintenance records and overall condition rather than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,605 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $71,623, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $71,623 sits slightly below last year's $82,657.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. If you plan to sell later, the Yukon XL’s resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong service records should matter more when you eventually go to market, especially because large SUVs can vary widely in buyer appeal.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.35% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the updated cabin, expanded feature set, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is simply getting the lowest possible entry price, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025 is the better fit if you want the newest mix of space, tech, and value balance.
