Is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup a good car?

The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup stands out because it turns the old Hummer formula into an electric supertruck with a very unusual body style, a five-foot bed, and four-door convertible packaging. It also brings standard giant tires, four-wheel steering that can move the truck sideways, an air suspension system that can raise ground clearance to 16 inches, and styling that evokes the original military HUMVEE.

Its appeal is not just visual. Standard equipment is unusually rich, including a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google Maps, Assistant, and Play store, plus support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other standard features include a Bose 14-speaker stereo, three years of Super Cruise, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, 360-degree cameras, wireless phone charging, cooled front seats, OnStar, and a 12-way power driver’s seat.

There are tradeoffs, though. The Hummer EV Pickup is extremely heavy and very inefficient, and braking requires long stops at high speeds. Interior materials are also described as sub-par. Even so, its combination of maneuverability, off-road hardware, and sheer presence makes it appealing to buyers who want an electric truck that feels unlike anything else.

29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup reliable?

The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup stands out because it combines extreme size, unusual styling, and serious off-road hardware in a way few trucks can match. It uses the industry’s largest battery, and its standard equipment list is unusually rich for a truck of this type.

Its strengths are clear if you want a distinctive electric truck with strong maneuverability and a long list of standard features. The tradeoffs are just as clear: it is extremely heavy, very inefficient, and has sub-par interior materials.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that its complexity, mass, and specialized hardware can make upkeep feel less forgiving than a simpler used truck.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re serious about, especially if you’re comparing multiple trucks with similar pricing. Put inspection priority on the truck’s condition, including signs of hard use, because this is a heavy, highly specialized vehicle. Focus on how well the interior, suspension, and body panels have held up, since those are the areas where wear can matter most on a used example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $73,393, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup's resale value?

The current average of $73,393 sits slightly below last year's $86,043.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped and maintained. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.70% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the Hummer EV Pickup’s distinctive design, rich standard equipment, and unusual off-road hardware, the 2025 is the primary year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced truck rather than chasing a specific badge year.
