Is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup a good car?

The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup stands out because it turns the old Hummer formula into an electric supertruck with a very unusual body style, a five-foot bed, and four-door convertible packaging. It also brings standard giant tires, four-wheel steering that can move the truck sideways, an air suspension system that can raise ground clearance to 16 inches, and styling that evokes the original military HUMVEE. Those traits make it one of the most distinctive pickups on the road, especially if you want something far more dramatic than a conventional electric truck.

Its appeal is not just visual. The Hummer EV Pickup uses the industry’s largest battery, and the truck’s extreme mass does not stop it from reaching 60 mph in less than three seconds. Standard equipment is also unusually rich, including a 13.4-inch touchscreen with Google Maps, Assistant, and Play store, plus support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other standard features include a Bose 14-speaker stereo, three years of Super Cruise, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, three-zone climate control, 360-degree cameras, wireless phone charging, cooled front seats, OnStar, and a 12-way power driver’s seat.

There are tradeoffs, though. The Hummer EV Pickup is extremely heavy and very inefficient, and braking requires long stops at high speeds. Interior materials are also described as sub-par. Even so, its combination of maneuverability, off-road hardware, and sheer presence makes it appealing if you want an electric truck that feels unlike anything else.

With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup reliable?

The 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup stands out because it combines extreme size, unusual packaging, and serious off-road hardware with a very rich standard feature set. It also brings four-wheel steering, an air suspension system that can raise ground clearance to 16 inches, and a cabin loaded with convenience and tech features, which makes it feel well equipped for daily use and weekend adventures alike.

At the same time, the truck’s extreme mass and very inefficient nature mean you should expect a vehicle that asks more of its brakes, tires, and suspension than a typical pickup. Its sub-par interior materials also suggest you should pay close attention to wear and finish quality when shopping used.

For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is that a heavy, highly specialized electric truck can be expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance or repairs were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any truck you’re serious about, especially to confirm accident history and title status. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the brakes, suspension, tires, and any signs of hard use, since this is a very heavy vehicle with unusual hardware. You should also pay close attention to cabin condition and interior fit and finish, because the materials are described as sub-par.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 140 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $73,564, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup's resale value?

The current average of $73,793 sits slightly below last year's $85,186.

That price movement suggests the truck has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may remain sensitive to market demand for highly specialized electric trucks. If you buy well now, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Hummer EV Pickup or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.37% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the Hummer EV Pickup’s most distinctive mix of styling, maneuverability, and standard equipment, the 2025 is a strong place to focus. If you’re more price-sensitive, you should also compare nearby model years and prioritize the truck with the best condition, clean history, and strongest asking price rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
