How much does the 2025 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 9.19% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,288 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2025 Mustang stands out for its front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, coupe and convertible body styles, and a range of trims and engines that let you choose between everyday usability and more serious muscle-car character. That flexibility makes it appealing if you want a performance car that can lean practical or more aggressive depending on the trim you choose. Market availability is healthy too, with 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mustang’s overview points to a car with broad appeal, but it also notes reported concerns involving powertrain vibrations, inconsistent interior build quality, limited-slip differential issues, and electronic stability control problems. That means you should treat reliability as something to verify carefully on the specific car you’re considering rather than assuming every example will be trouble-free. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car that has unresolved mechanical or build-quality issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report to confirm the car’s background and look for any prior damage or repeated repairs. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on the powertrain, differential behavior, and electronic systems, since those are the areas highlighted in the overview. Pay close attention to overall condition and how the car drives, especially if you’re comparing a lower-priced example against cleaner, better-documented listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,288 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,342, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $42,398 sits slightly below last year's $46,688.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A well-kept example should still benefit from the Mustang nameplate’s broad appeal and recognizable performance identity.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $38,055, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $42,398 average.
• It offers strong value with upgraded interior and technology.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2025 if you want the newer market position, strong inventory quality, and broad trim flexibility. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the better value play because it comes in noticeably cheaper while still delivering the Mustang’s core performance character.
