Is the 2025 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Ford F-150 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The overview points to a truck built around breadth: three cab styles, three bed lengths, eight trim levels, and six powertrains give you a wide range of choices for work, family use, and specialized needs. The expert review also highlights strong capability, impressive technology, and off-road competence, while noting trade-offs in fuel economy, maneuverability, and overall value.

The main compromises are poor fuel economy and poor maneuverability, so you should expect a truck that excels more in versatility and capability than in easy urban driving or low running costs.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes a truck that can handle a wide range of jobs, from daily errands to towing and hauling, while the expert review reinforces that it delivers serious substance across its many configurations. The performance write-up also supports durability-minded ownership by describing the standard V8 as strong, smooth, and well matched to the 10-speed automatic transmission.

The cost-effectiveness discussion suggests the F-150 is not a standout bargain, but it does frame the truck as broadly useful and well suited to light-duty pickup tasks. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying for capability you may not fully use, especially if you prioritize efficiency and easy maneuvering.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the trim and powertrain you want. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a full-size pickup, where wear can vary a lot depending on towing, off-road use, and daily workload. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use rather than mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tremor stands out as an off-road-focused version that builds on the XLT with a standard V8 engine, off-roading equipment, and exclusive design details. It adds body-color and black exterior details, Active Orange accents, all-terrain tires, and a more rugged visual identity.
• Powertrain: The standard 5.0-liter V8 produces 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is more capable and more fuel efficient. The V8 is rated at 17 mpg combined, and the EcoBoost comes in at 18 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Ford adds new driver-assistance systems for 2025, including oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, and Active Blind-Spot Assist. BlueCruise is standard starting with the Lariat trim.
• Infotainment: The truck uses a 12-inch productivity screen and a 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are onboard, and the native navigation and voice recognition systems are strong.
• Fuel efficiency: The Tremor V8 is rated at 17 mpg combined, while the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 achieves 18 mpg combined.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 adds a slew of new standard and optional driver-assistance systems.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,682, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $50,121 average.
• It adds a multi-functional tailgate and a standard 12-inch touchscreen.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the F-150’s unusually wide range of trims, beds, cabs, and powertrains.
• It continues to emphasize versatility and easy-to-use controls.

The bottom line: If you want the most current safety and tech updates, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the smarter value play. If you want to compare across the lineup’s broadest configuration range, the 2025 still gives you plenty of room to tailor the truck to your needs.
