How much does the 2025 Ford F-150 cost?

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The 2025 F-150 is built around breadth: you get three cab styles, three bed lengths, and six powertrains, so you can tailor it to work, family, or more specialized use. The expert review also highlights impressive technology and capability on and off the road.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and poor maneuverability, which can matter if you spend a lot of time in tight parking lots or dense city traffic. Even so, the lineup’s flexibility makes it easy to match the truck to your needs.

Good and great deals account for 35.8% of listings, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 F-150 is described as a highly versatile truck with a broad range of configurations, and the expert review also points to strong capability and useful technology. Its performance notes emphasize a robust V8 option and a powertrain lineup that can be tailored to different needs.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to competitive value in a crowded segment, even if the truck is not the cheapest choice. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a highly capable truck can be expensive to live with if you prioritize fuel economy and easy maneuverability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the truck’s equipment matches the listing, especially on higher-trim or option-heavy examples. A pre-purchase inspection is worth prioritizing if you plan to use the truck for towing, off-roading, or heavy daily driving. Focus on overall condition, because a truck with this much capability can also see a lot of hard use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tremor is one of three off-road-focused versions of the F-150, and it builds on the XLT trim level with a standard V8 engine, off-roading equipment, and exclusive design details. It adds body-color and black exterior details, Active Orange accents, exclusive wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and orange interior accents, while the cabin remains practical with knobs, buttons, and other switchgear that help reduce screen dependence.
• Powertrain: The Tremor’s standard 5.0-liter V8 produces 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the optional twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is more capable and more fuel efficient. The V8 is praised for its sound and strong everyday power, and the 10-speed automatic helps it pass, climb grades, and handle trails.
• Safety package: Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving technology is standard starting with the Lariat trim and includes a one-year trial subscription. New 2025 safety features include oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Blind-Spot Assist, and Driver State Detection.
• Infotainment: The F-150 uses a 12-inch productivity screen and a 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment touchscreen. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, and the native navigation system and voice recognition are described as outstanding.
• Fuel efficiency: The Tremor EcoBoost is rated at 18 mpg combined, while the V8 is rated at 17 mpg. In testing, the V8 returned 17.1 mpg on a round trip and averaged 15.7 mpg over a week.

Which 2025 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point if you want the F-150’s core utility without paying for the higher-end equipment that defines the upper trims. It makes the most sense if your priority is keeping the truck simple and functional.
• XLT: This is the trim that the Tremor builds on, and it’s the logical step up if you want a better-equipped truck without jumping straight to the luxury or specialty models. It’s the best-value starting point for buyers who want more capability and features than the base trim.
• Lariat: This is the trim where BlueCruise becomes standard, so it’s the one to target if hands-free driving matters to you. It’s a strong choice if you want a more advanced daily driver.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused choice, with standard 4WD, an off-road-tuned long-travel suspension, skid plates, a locking rear axle, front recovery hooks, and trail-driving aids. It suits you best if you want a truck that can handle rough terrain without moving all the way to the most extreme models.
• King Ranch: This is one of the more upscale choices in the lineup, aimed at buyers who want a more premium-feeling truck. It fits best if comfort and presentation matter as much as capability.
• Platinum: This is another luxury-oriented trim, and it’s the right pick if you want a more polished F-150 experience. It makes sense if you plan to use the truck as both a workhorse and a high-end daily driver.
• Raptor: This is the more aggressive off-road performance model, positioned above the Tremor. It’s the better fit if you want a more specialized desert-runner style truck.
• Raptor R: This is the most extreme off-road-focused version mentioned, and it sits at the top of the specialty lineup. Choose it only if you want the most serious performance-oriented F-150 character.

BlueCruise is standard starting with the Lariat trim, so lower trims do not include that hands-free driving feature.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward patience.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,774 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,856, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $48,856 sits slightly below last year's $59,055.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and equipment rather than just the badge alone. Trucks with desirable features and clean histories should hold up better than stripped or heavily used examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2025 Ford F-150 earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a four-star rollover resistance rating, and it scores well in IIHS testing.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford added several new safety features for 2025, including oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Blind-Spot Assist, and Driver State Detection. BlueCruise is standard starting with the Lariat trim and includes a one-year trial subscription.

The main caveat is that BlueCruise is not perfect and can disengage when lane markings, construction, glare, or other conditions confuse the system. That means you should still treat it as an assist feature, not a substitute for attention.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 adds a slew of new standard and optional driver-assistance systems.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,104, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $48,856 average.
• It offers a broad range of jobs, from school runs to towing, with thoughtful updates inside and out.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the F-150’s huge configuration range while reshuffling equipment across trims.
• The lineup remains the most versatile in the full-size truck class.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date safety tech and a broad selection of listings, the 2025 is the better primary target. If price matters more than getting the newest updates, the 2024 is the smarter value play.

How does the 2025 Ford F-150 compare to the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

The Ford costs more on the used market, but it also brings a stronger engine output and slightly better fuel economy in this comparison. The Silverado has a lower average used price and a slightly higher share of good or great deals, so it may appeal more if your priority is upfront savings.
