How much does the 2025 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 16.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Ford F-150 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The 2025 F-150 stands out for its sheer breadth of lineup, with three cab styles, three bed lengths, eight trim levels, and six powertrains, so you can tailor it to work, family, or more specialized use. The expert review also highlights impressive technology and capability on and off the road.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy and poor maneuverability, and the value proposition is only average. Even so, the truck’s versatility and broad configuration range make it easy to match to your needs.

36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 F-150 is presented as a highly versatile truck with broad configuration choices and strong capability, which usually helps it serve reliably across very different use cases. The expert review also emphasizes its substance across the lineup, from work-focused setups to more specialized versions.

Its standard 5.0-liter V8 is described as one of the best ever, with robust output and strong towing and payload numbers, while the available twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is noted as more capable and more fuel efficient. That points to a powertrain lineup built for durability-minded buyers who want proven hardware and multiple ways to spec the truck.

Ford also adds new driver-assistance systems for 2025, and the truck’s hands-free driving tech is described as accurate and trustworthy most of the time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a large, highly equipped truck can be expensive to keep in top condition if it has been worked hard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-150?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a truck that may have been used for towing, off-roading, or heavy daily duty. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake wear, and signs of hard use in the cabin and bed.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tremor builds on the XLT trim level with off-roading equipment and exclusive design details, while the base truck can miss some of the more distinctive visual and capability upgrades.
• Powertrain: The standard 5.0-liter V8 delivers 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the optional twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 is more capable and more fuel efficient.
• Safety package: Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving technology is standard starting with the Lariat trim and includes a one-year trial subscription; 2025 also adds oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, and Active Blind-Spot Assist.
• Infotainment: The truck uses a 12-inch productivity screen and a 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The Tremor EcoBoost is rated at 18 mpg combined, while the V8 is rated at 17 mpg.

Which 2025 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch, Raptor, and Raptor R.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point if you want the broad F-150 experience at the lowest rung, but you’ll be giving up the richer equipment and personality found higher up the range.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it’s the foundation for the Tremor and gives you a strong mix of capability and equipment without jumping too far up in price.
• Tremor: This is the one to buy if you want off-road hardware and a more distinctive look; it adds a standard V8, off-road-tuned long-travel suspension, skid plates, a locking rear axle, recovery hooks, and trail-focused driving modes.
• Lariat: This is the trim to target if you want BlueCruise standard, since that hands-free system starts here and adds a major tech upgrade.
• Platinum: This is the better pick if you want a more luxury-oriented F-150 without going all the way to the specialty models.
• King Ranch: This suits buyers who want a more upscale, distinctive full-size truck with a premium feel.
• Raptor: This is the performance off-road choice for buyers who want the most serious trail-focused character.
• Raptor R: This is the top-end performance off-road model for buyers who want the most extreme version of the lineup.

BlueCruise is standard starting with the Lariat trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,753 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,517, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $49,517 sits slightly below last year's $59,245.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re thinking about future value, the current softness means condition, mileage, and trim choice matter even more.

The F-150’s broad appeal and strong demand across work and family use cases should help support resale interest over time. Well-equipped trucks with desirable features and clean histories are likely to hold buyer attention better than heavily worn examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 safe?

The F-150 earns a five-star overall rating and a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA, and it scores well in IIHS crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s 2025 safety updates include oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, and Active Blind-Spot Assist. BlueCruise is also part of the package, and it is standard starting with the Lariat trim with a one-year trial subscription.

One important caveat is that BlueCruise is impressive but not infallible, so you still need to stay ready to take over when road markings, construction, or lane changes confuse the system.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 adds a slew of new standard and optional driver-assistance systems, plus a new Platinum Plus option package.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $45,475, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $49,517 average.
• It adds thoughtful updates inside and out, including an updated BlueCruise system and a standard 12-inch touchscreen.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the F-150’s huge configuration range while reshuffling equipment across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the newest safety and tech updates, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in strong condition with the features you want.
