How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The redesign gives you a more truck-inspired look, new standard tech, and new safety features, while also keeping value front and center. It also brings a new trim aimed at buyers who want a little more weekend-ready character from a compact crossover.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: cargo space is small for the class, and the voice assistant can be finicky.

With a 37.9% good-or-great deal share, you have a decent amount of market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a straightforward compact crossover with a focus on everyday usability, standard tech, and broad appeal rather than complexity. Its single-engine setup and updated transmissions keep the formula simple, and the ride is described as quiet and comfortable in normal driving.

The performance notes point to an engine that feels responsive at low speeds, with more strain showing up during highway merging. That suggests the powertrain is adequate for daily use, but not especially strong when you ask for quick passing or loaded-up acceleration.

Chevrolet also includes standard wireless smartphone projection, Google Built-In, and a broad set of standard safety and driver-assistance features, which can reduce day-to-day friction. The standard maintenance and ownership experience should be manageable for most used buyers, but the small cargo area and the finicky voice assistant are reminders that this is more practical than polished in every respect.

For long-term ownership, you should still budget for normal compact-SUV wear and pay close attention to how the transmission and electronics behave on a test drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, verify service records, and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing looks especially cheap or lightly documented. Focus your test drive on how the transmission shifts, how the infotainment and voice controls behave, and whether the cabin and cargo area show the kind of wear that matches the mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the base trim and comes with 17-inch wheels, while the RS adds black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. The ACTIV brings its own styling, 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and a more adventure-oriented look. If you want the best value, the LT gives you the core redesign and standard tech without pushing the price up as far as the higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a single 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive models use a CVT, while all-wheel-drive versions use an eight-speed automatic and make more torque. AWD also adds Off-Road mode, while FWD models get Normal and Snow modes.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes rear park assist, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, and automatic high beams. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen measures 11.3 inches, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Google Built-In is standard too, along with wi-fi hotspot capability and a six-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, RS, ACTIV.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the value play because it gives you the redesigned Equinox, standard wireless smartphone projection, and the core safety suite without forcing you into the pricier styling trims.
• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look, larger standard wheels, and the darker interior treatment with red accents.
• ACTIV: Pick this if you want the most adventure-flavored appearance, the all-terrain tires, and the unique Maple Sugar and Black interior theme.

The available Safety & Technology package can be added to any trim for extra driver-assistance and visibility features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 12,626 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.5% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $25,679 sits slightly below last year's $28,614.

That price movement suggests the Equinox has softened enough to help you buy more confidently today. If you sell later, you should expect the market to remain sensitive to trim, mileage, and condition rather than holding value especially tightly.

For a future seller, the current trend is a reminder that well-kept examples with desirable equipment should be easier to move than rougher ones. A clean history and strong presentation will matter more if prices stay under pressure.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.26% compared with last year.
• The redesign brings new standard tech and safety features plus a more truck-inspired look.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $27,470, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $25,679 average.
• It mainly adds a standard drive mode selector and a new Polar White exterior color.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2025 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesign and stronger pricing. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model year and don’t mind limited changes, the 2026 is the fallback.
