Used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearSalem, OR

How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 11.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,871 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns an expert rating of 7.67/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

You get a fresher redesign with new standard tech and safety features, plus a more truck-inspired look that helps the Equinox feel more modern and more appealing than before. It also brings a sub-$30k base price, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a new trim aimed at buyers who want a little more weekend-ready character.

The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the cargo area is small for the class, off-road capability is still minimal even in ACTIV trim, and the voice assistant can be finicky.

With 38.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox’s redesign and standard equipment suggest a well-rounded compact SUV that should fit daily use well, especially if you value modern tech and a broad safety suite. Its single-engine setup and updated transmissions keep the formula straightforward, which can be a plus when you want a simpler ownership experience.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with a CVT in FWD models and an eight-speed automatic in AWD versions, and the eight-speed was described as an improvement over the old six-speed. The ride is also described as fairly quiet and comfortable outside of harder acceleration, which points to a generally easygoing driving character.

Chevrolet also includes standard wireless smartphone projection, Google Built-In, Chevy Safety Assist, and Teen Driver Technology, which adds useful guardrails for households with newer drivers. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a compact SUV with modest power and a small cargo area may feel less satisfying if your needs grow beyond everyday commuting and errands.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the specific listing matches the equipment you want, especially if you care about AWD, trim-specific styling, or the available safety package. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on cabin tech operation, driver-assistance functionality, and overall condition, since the voice assistant and some convenience features are part of the ownership experience here.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the base trim and comes with 17-inch wheels, while RS adds black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. ACTIV is the new adventure-oriented trim with dark chrome accents, simpler grille inserts, 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires. If you want the best value, the LT gives you the core redesign and standard tech without pushing the price up.
• Powertrain: The 2025 Equinox uses a single 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. FWD models use a CVT, while AWD models get an eight-speed automatic and more torque, plus selectable drive modes that include Snow in FWD and Off-Road in AWD.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes rear park assist, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen measures 11.3 inches, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Google Built-In is standard too, along with wi-fi hotspot capability and a six-speaker audio system.
• Fuel efficiency:

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, RS, ACTIV.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value choice if you want the redesigned Equinox at the lowest entry price. You still get the new styling, standard wireless smartphone projection, and the core safety and tech features without paying for the more style-driven trims.
• RS: Choose this if you want the sportier look, with black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. It also gets the darker cabin treatment and the most aggressive visual personality of the lineup.
• ACTIV: Pick this if you want the most weekend-ready appearance, with all-terrain tires, unique exterior trim, and the Maple Sugar and Black interior theme. It is the trim that best matches Chevrolet’s adventure-oriented pitch, though it still isn’t a true off-road model.

The available Safety & Technology package can be added to any trim for extra driver-assistance and visibility features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,871 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,108, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $26,118 sits slightly below last year's $29,487.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means the market has already adjusted downward from where it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, mileage, condition, and whether the vehicle has the desirable tech and safety equipment buyers now expect.

Because the current average is still within the model’s year-round range, the Equinox appears to be settling into a more stable pricing band. For a future seller, that usually means condition and equipment will matter more than timing alone.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns Good ratings from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes rear park assist, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.

Teen Driver Technology is also standard, which lets you set speed and volume limits, require seatbelts before the vehicle can move, and review a report card of driving behavior. That makes the Equinox especially appealing if you’re shopping for a family vehicle or a first car for a newer driver.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.42% compared with last year.
• The redesign adds new standard tech and safety features, plus a more modern look and a new trim aimed at weekend-ready buyers.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $27,986, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $26,118 average.
• It adds a standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: If you want the better value right now, the 2025 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong inventory and a fresh redesign. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model year and a small feature update, the 2026 is the alternative to consider.
