How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 10.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,927 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns an expert rating of 7.7/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It brings a more truck-inspired redesign, new standard tech, and added safety features, which makes it feel fresher and more appealing than the outgoing version. It also offers a sub-$30k base price and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are strong value points for compact SUV shoppers.

The trade-offs are that the cargo area is small for the class and the voice assistant can be finicky.

For shoppers who want a compact SUV with a modern cabin and strong standard equipment, it fits the brief well. The market also looks supportive, with 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a more modern and easier-to-live-with redesign, with new standard safety equipment and updated tech that should help day-to-day ownership feel straightforward. Its single-engine setup and new transmissions also point to a simpler lineup than some rivals.

The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is paired with a CVT in FWD models and an eight-speed automatic in AWD versions, and the eight-speed is described as an improvement over the old six-speed. The cabin tech is also positioned as a strength, with Google Built-In and wireless smartphone connectivity standard.

Chevrolet also includes standard Teen Driver Technology, which can help families manage how the vehicle is driven. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the small cargo area and modest powertrain may feel limiting if your needs grow.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the trim and equipment you want. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you care about the condition of the tech, driver-assistance features, and interior wear. Focus on how the cabin functions in person, since the Equinox’s value is tied heavily to its standard equipment and everyday usability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the base trim and comes with 17-inch wheels, while RS adds black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. ACTIV brings a more adventure-oriented look with dark chrome accents, simpler grille inserts, 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires. The base trim is the value play if you want the essentials without paying for styling upgrades.
• Powertrain: The 2025 Equinox uses a single 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower. FWD models use a CVT, while AWD models use an eight-speed automatic and get more torque. AWD also adds Off-Road mode, while FWD models get Normal and Snow modes.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes rear park assist, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The standard touchscreen measures 11.3 inches, and Google Built-In is standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wi-fi hotspot capability is included, and wireless charging is standard on RS and ACTIV and available on LT.
• Fuel efficiency: No figure is stated in the provided data.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, RS, ACTIV.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the best-value trim if you want the lowest entry price and the core Equinox experience. You still get the standard tech and safety equipment, plus the option to add styling touches like Midnight Edition or two-tone paint.
• RS: This is the pick if you want the sportier look and more upscale visual presence. It adds blacked-out exterior details, larger standard wheels, and a darker cabin with red accents.
• ACTIV: This is the trim to choose if you want the most distinctive adventure-themed styling. It adds unique exterior treatment, all-terrain tires, and a lighter interior theme, though the content still says off-road capability remains minimal.

The available Safety & Technology package can be added to any trim for extra driver-assistance and visibility features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without waiting for a dramatic bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,927 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,104, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $25,966 sits slightly below last year's $29,155.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now. For a future seller, that also means resale expectations should stay realistic unless the vehicle is especially well equipped or exceptionally clean.

If you plan to sell later, the strongest protection will likely come from keeping mileage reasonable and preserving condition. A well-maintained Equinox should still appeal to shoppers who want standard tech and safety features at a lower used price.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes rear park assist, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, enhanced automatic emergency braking, enhanced lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.

Teen Driver Technology is also standard, which is a useful feature if you plan to share the vehicle with newer drivers. The main safety caveat is that some of the more advanced visibility features are reserved for the available package.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.94% compared with last year.
• It adds new standard tech and safety features, plus a fresh redesign and a new trim aimed at weekend-ready buyers.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $27,610, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $25,966 average.
• It adds a standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2025 is the smarter buy because it brings the redesign and the strongest pricing position. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model year and a small update, the 2026 is the secondary path for buyers who care less about price.
