Used 2025 BMW X5 for Sale nearLawrence, KS

How much does the 2025 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 14.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,318 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 a good car?

The 2025 BMW X5 earns an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Technology, and Safety.

It fits well if you want a midsize luxury SUV that emphasizes strong handling, a comfortable driving experience, and multiple powertrain options. The trade-offs are clear: it is not the strongest value compared with rivals, and advanced safety features are not standard.

With 36.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 reliable?

The 2025 BMW X5 is presented as an established, well-developed SUV rather than a newly reinvented one, which supports confidence in its maturity. Its powertrain lineup is broad, and the expert evaluation describes the driving experience as smooth, precise, and well-rounded.

The performance notes also point to a chassis that feels reasonably agile and a power delivery that remains composed across the lineup. BMW’s four-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle warranty is comparable to most rivals, which helps frame ownership expectations.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about novelty and more about complexity: higher-spec versions and options can add cost and make upkeep more expensive over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW X5?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-spec or heavily optioned example. Focus on overall condition, tire wear, brake condition, and whether the equipment on the listing matches what you expect from the trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The X5 lineup includes base models with 20-inch wheels and run-flat all-season tires, plus M Sport versions with sportier bumpers and Shadowline trim. The limited Silver Anniversary Edition adds Lime Rock Grey paint, an off-road package, and unique wheel design, but it is more unusual than broadly appealing.
• Powertrain: You can choose a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive form, a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 in the M60i, or a plug-in hybrid with a larger electric motor and battery pack. Efficiency varies widely by version, from 25 mpg combined in six-cylinder models to 19 mpg combined in the V8 and 15 mpg combined in the high-performance X5 M Competition.
• Safety package: Standard Active Driving Assistant includes lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning, but not adaptive cruise control. For that, you need the Driving Assistance Professional Package, which adds Highway Assistant. Parking Assistant includes Reversing Assistant, while Parking Assistance Professional adds Active Park Distance Control, a 360-degree camera system, and Maneuver Assistant.
• Infotainment: The curved display pairs a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with BMW Operating System 8, voice recognition, steering wheel controls, and gesture control.
• Fuel efficiency: Six-cylinder models are rated at 25 mpg combined, while the V8 M60i returns 19 mpg combined and the X5 M Competition is rated at 15 mpg combined. The plug-in hybrid can travel up to 39 miles on electric power alone.

Which 2025 BMW X5 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW X5 is offered in 5 trim levels: X5 sDrive40i, X5 xDrive40i, X5 xDrive50e, X5 M60i xDrive, X5 M Competition.

Here's the short version:

• X5 sDrive40i: This is the least expensive entry point, and it gives you the core X5 experience with the turbocharged inline-six and rear-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and do not need all-wheel drive.
• X5 xDrive40i: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds all-wheel drive while keeping the same balanced six-cylinder setup and strong everyday usability.
• X5 xDrive50e: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid setup and the strongest efficiency-oriented appeal, plus standard air suspension.
• X5 M60i xDrive: This is the pick if you want the V8-powered performance model with more urgency and the available rear-wheel steering system.
• X5 M Competition: This is the top performance choice, with the most extreme acceleration and the highest-output V8 in the lineup.

The standard safety package does not include adaptive cruise control; that requires the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,318 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $57,299, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $57,299 sits slightly below last year's $67,388.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure than they would have a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.

The X5 still has strong name recognition and broad appeal, which should help support resale demand. Even so, the current trend shows that pricing discipline matters if you want to protect your value when it is time to sell.

Is the 2025 BMW X5 safe?

The 2025 BMW X5 earns a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal and rollover crash tests, and five-star ratings in side crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Active Driving Assistant includes lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning. Adaptive cruise control is not standard; you need the Driving Assistance Professional Package for Highway Assistant, BMW’s hands-free system that also handles steering at speeds up to 85 mph.

Parking tech is also split by package. Standard Parking Assistant includes Reversing Assistant, while Parking Assistance Professional adds Active Park Distance Control, a 360-degree camera system, and Maneuver Assistant.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.9% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.97% compared with last year.
• It adds a limited-edition anniversary model and carries forward the refreshed 2024 update.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $50,871, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $57,299 average.
• It offers a delight-to-drive plug-in hybrid with about 40 miles of electric-only range.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $70,762, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $57,299 average.
• It broadens the lineup with five versions and even more ways to configure the SUV.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right choice if you want the refreshed X5 experience and can find a well-priced listing. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest version and are comfortable paying more, the 2026 is the upgrade path.
