How much does the 2025 BMW M4 cost?

Prices have softened 4.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 351 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 a good car?

The 2025 BMW M4 earns an 8.2/10 expert rating, and the standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The 2025 M4 is built for buyers who want a serious performance car without giving up everyday usability. It offers coupe and convertible body styles, manual or automatic transmission choices, and rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive, so you can tailor it to how you want to drive. It also seats four people and carries a decent amount of cargo, which helps it work as more than just a weekend toy.

The trade-offs are clear: it is expensive, the tech can be hit-or-miss, and the back seat is cramped.

With 37.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 reliable?

The 2025 M4 is presented as a well-rounded performance car that can be comfortable when you want it and track-ready when you need it, which points to a broad usable range rather than a narrow, fragile one. Its performance hardware is substantial, with an adaptive suspension, active differential, and strong brakes supporting the chassis.

The infotainment and driver-assistance systems add modern convenience, and the car’s configurable powertrain, steering, braking, exhaust, and suspension settings suggest a platform designed for repeated use across different driving conditions. The available maintenance perk language is not provided here.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a high-performance car like this can be costly to keep in top shape, especially if it has been driven hard or modified.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW M4?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this much performance hardware and a wide range of configurations. Focus on condition, maintenance records, tire and brake wear, and signs that the car has been used aggressively or tracked. If you are considering a convertible, pay extra attention to top operation and weather sealing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The coupe is offered in base, M4 Competition, and M4 Competition xDrive specifications, while the convertible is available only as the Competition xDrive. The base coupe is the least expensive way in, but the Competition and xDrive versions add more power and broader capability.
• Powertrain: The M4 uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. Output ranges from 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque to 523 hp and 479 lb-ft, depending on transmission choice, and the Competition xDrive setup adds RWD, AWD, and sport AWD modes.
• Safety package: Every M4 has Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Active Guard collision preparation and driver monitoring are also standard. The Driving Assistance Professional package adds evasive steering assist, lane centering assist, lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The M4 uses BMW Operating System 8.5 with Live Cockpit Professional dual-screen instrumentation and infotainment. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and SiriusXM 360L are standard, along with cloud-based navigation and a voice assistant.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA says you should expect 18 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 BMW M4 trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW M4 is offered in 3 trim levels: base, M4 Competition, M4 Competition xDrive.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the manual transmission and the least expensive path into the M4 lineup. It still gives you the core M4 experience, but it is the one to choose if you value driver involvement and want to keep costs down.
• M4 Competition: This is the best-value trim if you want more power and quicker acceleration without stepping all the way up to xDrive. It pairs the stronger output with the automatic transmission and keeps the car squarely in performance-first territory.
• M4 Competition xDrive: This is the one to buy if you want the quickest, most capable version in the lineup and are willing to pay for it. It adds the xDrive system and the highest output, and it is also the only convertible specification.

The Driving Assistance Professional package adds more sophisticated driver aids, including lane centering assist, lane change assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW M4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 351 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $86,231, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $88,696 sits slightly below last year's $92,869.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and configuration.

Because the M4 is a high-performance model with a strong enthusiast following, well-kept examples should remain easier to market than neglected ones. If you plan to sell later, keeping maintenance records and preserving the car’s condition will matter a lot.

Is the 2025 BMW M4 safe?

The 2025 BMW M4 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every BMW M4 has Active Driving Assistant, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Active Guard collision preparation and driver monitoring are also standard, along with BMW Assist e-Call for emergency services.

The available Driving Assistance Professional package adds evasive steering assist, lane centering assist, lane change assist, emergency stop assist, and Traffic Jam Assist. The high-resolution surround-view camera system is especially useful because visibility is compromised when the top is up, and it helps protect the front air dam and wheels from scrapes.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.49% compared with last year.
• The 2025 update brings a light detail refresh, a slight power bump for Competition xDrive models, and a new operating system for the infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this performance coupe or convertible, the 2025 is the right target because it adds meaningful updates without changing the M4’s core appeal. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2025 is the better pick when you want the latest updates and a market that has softened a bit.
