Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, along with strong engines, which helps it appeal to you if you want something more engaging than a typical luxury cruiser without giving up refinement. It also benefits from excellent rear passenger room, making it feel more practical than many cars in its class.

Its appeal is also tied to the breadth of equipment and the sense of occasion it brings. The interior is described as brimming with tech, and the car offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, in-car gaming, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, USB-C charge ports, front seat massagers, a panoramic glass roof, and an available 31-inch theater screen with 5G connectivity and built-in Amazon Fire TV. BMW also offers a leather-free configuration, while the M Sport package adds uprated brakes and sports styling features. On the downside, expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle are worth keeping in mind, so the 2025 BMW 8 Series is best suited to you if you value performance and luxury enough to accept those tradeoffs.

35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 8 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 8 Series stands out as a luxury grand tourer that blends strong performance with a polished, high-tech cabin. It offers a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, along with strong engines, and it also benefits from excellent rear passenger room, which supports its long-distance, upscale character.

It is best suited to you if you want a premium performance car that feels refined and well equipped rather than stripped down or purely practical. The tradeoffs are familiar for this class: expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle are worth keeping in mind.

For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is tied more to premium-car costs and depreciation than to everyday simplicity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car's records match its advertised condition. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or expensive options, and focus on signs of wear in the cabin, electronics, and bodywork.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 8 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 349 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 95.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $69,403, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $70,366 sits slightly below last year's $84,223.

That drop suggests the market has already moved lower, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit how much value you recover later. If you plan to sell in a few years, the softer pricing trend means you should expect depreciation to remain an important part of ownership costs. For that reason, buying well below the current average matters if you want to protect future resale value.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.45% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right choice if you want the current-year balance of luxury, performance, and available inventory, especially if you can find one near the lower end of the price range. If you're more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025 gives you a strong starting point when you want a well-equipped grand tourer with a softer market price.
