How much does the 2025 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 14.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,023 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series stands out as a midsize luxury sedan that blends strong performance with a much larger footprint than before. The added size brings more passenger room, and the cabin centers on BMW’s curved display for a modern, tech-forward feel.

For you, that means this model makes the most sense if you want a luxury sedan with a lot of technology and a roomy interior. The tradeoff is that the car remains pricey and complex, and the trunk is smaller than before despite the larger body. 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 BMW 5 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 5 Series is presented as a luxury sedan with a lot of technology and available safety equipment, which can make it appealing if you want a well-equipped daily driver. BMW offers features such as adaptive cruise control with lane centering and a hands-free mode, though those systems are part of extra-cost option packages.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s complexity can make repairs and upkeep more demanding than on a simpler sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re serious about, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check the electronics, driver-assistance features, and overall condition before you commit. Because this model leans heavily on technology, focus on how everything operates in real use, not just on mileage and appearance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 5 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,023 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.30% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,276, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $47,276 sits slightly below last year's $55,165.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than it would be in a stronger pricing environment. If you keep the car well maintained and well documented, you’ll be in a better position to protect value later.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.30% compared with last year.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $42,692, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,276 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and quiet over driving excitement.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $58,119, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $47,276 average.
• It delivers a more balanced mix of comfort, technology, and performance.

The 2025 is the best fit if you want the newer body style and a market that has already softened meaningfully. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play. If you want the most rounded version of this generation and can spend more, the 2026 is the stronger upgrade path.
