Is the 2025 Audi A3 a good car?

The 2025 Audi A3 earns an 7.7/10 expert rating and stands out as a small luxury sedan with premium interior materials, impressive technology, and a more engaging driving character than many shoppers expect.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It’s a strong fit if you want a compact luxury car that feels upscale and fun on twisty roads, with newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive adding extra traction and confidence. The trade-offs are familiar small-car compromises: the back seat is cramped and cargo space is limited.

The market shows 40.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Audi A3 reliable?

The 2025 Audi A3 is presented as a well-built small luxury sedan with solid everyday manners, quality materials, and a refined powertrain that feels quick and nimble. Its standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive support confident driving in varied conditions, and the expert review describes the car as structurally sound around town.

Audi also includes a helpful set of standard driver-assistance features, and the available Adaptive Cruise Assist is described as excellent technology with smooth, calm responses in highway driving. The lane-departure warning system, however, is called out for issuing false alerts.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership should be manageable, but you’ll want to pay close attention to the condition of the electronics and driver-assistance systems before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, and pay close attention to signs of wear in the cabin, infotainment system, and driver-assistance features. Because this is a compact luxury sedan, it’s especially worth checking that the car’s condition matches its mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium and Premium Plus are the two trim packages mentioned, and the Premium Plus adds more advanced tech and driver-assistance equipment. The base setup already includes quality materials and a polished design, but the higher trim brings more of the upscale features that make the A3 feel fully loaded.
• Powertrain: The A3 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned for quick, nimble driving and returns 28 mpg combined.
• Safety package: Audi Pre Sense Front, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a vehicle exit warning system, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring are standard. Premium Plus adds Adaptive Cruise Assist, lane guidance, and hands-on detection, so check whether the car you’re considering has that upgraded suite.
• Infotainment: Standard tech includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Audi Connect services, and a six-speaker sound system. Premium Plus adds a Sonos premium sound system, and the Technology Package brings a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus display and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The A3 is EPA-rated at 28 mpg combined, and the expert evaluation recorded 28.4 mpg on its test loop.

Which 2025 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Audi A3 is offered in 2 trim levels: Premium and Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the trim to start with if you want the A3’s core appeal: attractive design, premium materials, standard wireless smartphone integration, and the engaging turbocharged powertrain with Quattro all-wheel drive. It gives you the essentials of the A3 experience without pushing the price higher.
• Premium Plus: This is the better-value choice if you want the A3 to feel more fully equipped. It adds the upgraded Sonos audio system and the more advanced driver-assistance and convenience features, making it the trim that best matches the car’s upscale personality.

The Premium Plus trim also adds Adaptive Cruise Assist, Lane Guidance, and hands-on detection capability for the steering wheel.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Audi A3?

It’s a favorable time to shop if you want a used 2025 Audi A3, because pricing has softened and there are enough listings to give you leverage.

• Deal availability: 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 629 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.17% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 94.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,702, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $31,702 sits slightly below last year's $34,523.

That price movement suggests the A3 has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help you get into the car at a better entry point than before. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect resale values to reflect the softer market rather than hold at last year’s level.

If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later, especially if you choose a clean, well-equipped example with desirable features. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from cars that are accident-free, properly maintained, and equipped with the more appealing trim and tech packages.

Is the 2025 Audi A3 safe?

The 2025 Audi A3 earns its top rating in a small overlap front crash test from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi Pre Sense Front packages forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and standard equipment also includes lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, a vehicle exit warning system, and Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring. Premium Plus adds Adaptive Cruise Assist with adaptive cruise control, Lane Guidance, and hands-on detection capability.

The lane-departure warning system is the main caveat, since it regularly issued false alerts in testing. That doesn’t make the A3 unsafe, but it does mean you should pay attention to how the system behaves during your own test drive.

Should I buy a 2025 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94.4% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.17% compared with last year.
• The refreshed model’s newly standard Quattro all-wheel drive and additional standard features are appealing if you want the most up-to-date version of the A3.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the right pick if you want the refreshed A3 with standard all-wheel drive and a strong mix of performance, tech, and premium feel. If your priority is simply getting into an A3 for less money, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but the 2025’s added standard equipment makes it the more compelling choice for many shoppers.
