Is the 2025 Acura RDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura RDX earns a 7.3/10 expert rating, and the standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The overview and expert evaluation point to a compact luxury crossover that keeps its appeal through thoughtful updates rather than a full redesign. You get refreshed styling details, a new wireless charging pad, improved Apple CarPlay and Android Auto presentation, and practical cabin touches that make daily use easier. The trade-offs are clear: frustrating infotainment controls and poor fuel economy remain part of the package, and the back seat is a weak point.

That makes the RDX a strong fit if you want style, value, and an enjoyable driving experience, while being willing to live with some cabin-tech compromises. The market also shows 36.3% of listings as good or great deals, which supports its value case.

Is the 2025 Acura RDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura RDX is presented as a familiar, well-developed model that focuses on refinement rather than reinvention, which can be reassuring if you prefer a proven formula. Its expert evaluation also emphasizes quality, interior space, practicality, and thoughtful details that make it pleasant to live with over time.

The performance notes reinforce that it uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a 10-speed automatic and SH-AWD, and the driving character is described as lively and enjoyable in everyday use. Acura also includes a standard maintenance perk in the ownership experience through the brand’s broader value proposition, which helps soften some running-cost concerns.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same infotainment frustrations and thirsty engine that show up in testing are likely to remain part of the ownership experience.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura RDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment behavior, and how the vehicle drives over rough pavement, since the RDX’s tech interface and ride-related quirks are part of the ownership story.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RDX is available in a base level of specification with Technology, A-Spec, Advance, or A-Spec Advance packages, and the base version is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment. The Advance and A-Spec Advance add full leather upholstery, and higher trims also bring features such as a surround-view camera system.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and SH-AWD. The engine is lively, but the more you use the turbocharged torque, the more fuel it consumes.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Low-speed front and rear braking is not standard on the base RDX, and the surround-view camera system is reserved for the Advance and A-Spec Advance.
• Infotainment: A 10.2-inch display sits on the dashboard, and it is not a touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and Alexa Built-In are included, and all versions except the base model have navigation and an Acura/ELS Studio premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The RDX is rated at 23 mpg in combined driving, and a test loop returned 19.3 mpg.

Which 2025 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance.

Here's the short version:

• Technology: This is the entry point, and it makes the most sense if you want the RDX’s core strengths without stretching to the pricier packages. It gives you the basic formula, but you’ll miss some of the richer comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want the sportier look and a more expressive cabin presentation. It adds visual flair, but the driving character remains more about style than true performance.
• Advance: This is the best-value choice if you want the most meaningful comfort and convenience upgrades. It adds the kind of equipment that makes daily use easier and more upscale.
• A-Spec Advance: Pick this if you want the fullest expression of the RDX’s style-and-luxury formula. It combines the sportier appearance with the richest feature set, including full leather upholstery.

Acura reserves the surround-view camera system for the Advance and A-Spec Advance, while low-speed front and rear braking is not available on the base RDX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura RDX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,682 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,472, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $41,472 sits slightly below last year's $45,336.

That price movement suggests the RDX has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers than it offered a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure ahead than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. For a future seller, that also means the market is currently valuing the model more conservatively, so condition and trim choice will matter when it’s time to resell.

Is the 2025 Acura RDX safe?

The 2025 RDX earned a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims also offer low-speed front and rear braking and a surround-view camera system.

One caveat is that the lane-assist systems were described as irritating in testing, and the adaptive cruise control can struggle to maintain a smooth following distance. The surround-view camera is also not standard across the lineup, so you need to move up to the Advance or A-Spec Advance for that feature.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.52% compared with last year.
• The 2025 model adds subtle styling updates, a new wireless charging pad, improved Apple CarPlay and Android Auto presentation, and the top A-Spec Advance trim gains full leather upholstery.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of this familiar formula, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2025’s softened pricing and updated features make it the cleaner choice for shoppers who want the latest version without paying peak-market pricing.
