How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 10.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,343 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

With a user rating of 3.8/5 and an expert rating of 7.8/10, the 2025 Acura MDX looks like a well-rounded luxury SUV with clear strengths and a few meaningful compromises. It is styled as a refreshed three-row model that emphasizes simplicity, sophistication, and refinement, and it is especially appealing if you want straightforward controls and intuitive technology.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Its biggest trade-offs are poor fuel economy and a standard V6 that is described as somewhat underwhelming, while the third row is also cramped. Even so, the MDX still fits shoppers who want a comfortable, polished, easy-to-use luxury SUV for everyday driving and road trips.

With 38.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a refined, comfortable, and safe three-row SUV that benefits from hardware upgrades aimed at improving the accuracy and refinement of its driver-assistance systems. The expert review also describes the standard AcuraWatch features as performing well overall, with only a few minor quirks noted during testing.

The performance write-up says the MDX’s standard V6 is tried-and-true and supplies good power, while the SUV’s body motions are smooth and consistent instead of sudden and unpredictable. Acura also says the first scheduled maintenance visit is covered during the first year or 12,000 miles, which helps early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the MDX’s fuel economy and standard powertrain may be less satisfying over time if you prioritize efficiency or stronger acceleration.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and whether the vehicle’s features match the trim level you expect.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup adds a new A-Spec Advance trim level for 2025, and the base model is described as nicely equipped. Higher trims add more luxury and sportier presentation, while the base version lacks some of the richer equipment found farther up the range.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. SH-AWD is optional on the base and Technology trims, standard starting with A-Spec, and lower trims use front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, Google Built-in, and over-the-air connected features through AcuraLink. Starting with Technology, the SUV gets Bang & Olufsen audio, and the display setup is designed to be simple and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The review says this is not an efficient SUV, and the test vehicle averaged 18.4 mpg on a mixed evaluation loop. The A-Spec Advance is EPA-rated at 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: Base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, Type S Advance.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point and is described as nicely equipped, so it makes sense if you want the MDX experience at the lowest starting price. It gives you the core luxury-SUV formula without pushing you into pricier equipment.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful upgrades like front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and a stronger audio setup. If you want the most balanced mix of features and price, this is the one to focus on.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and standard SH-AWD. It adds more visual presence and a more performance-oriented feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• Advance: This trim leans into comfort and luxury, and it benefits from the richer interior treatment described in the review. It suits you if you care more about premium ambiance than sporty styling.
• A-Spec Advance: This is the most luxurious version with a sportier appearance, combining the upscale equipment of Advance with the visual edge of A-Spec. It is the right pick if you want the fullest mix of style and comfort.
• Type S Advance: This is the performance flagship, with the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, maximum acceleration and handling, and AcuraWatch 360. It is the trim to choose if you want the most power and the most advanced safety package.

AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance in 2025.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,343 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,305, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,305 sits slightly below last year's $53,006.

That decline suggests the MDX has become more affordable for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a better price. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect some pressure on resale if the market continues to favor shoppers.

Because the current price is already below last year’s level, your best resale outcome will likely depend on condition, mileage, and trim. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than higher-mileage or lightly equipped ones.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 MDX carries over its five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and the 2024 model earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All MDX models have forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with the Technology trim, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking.

AcuraWatch 360 is new for 2025 and exclusive to the Type S Advance. It adds front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist. The review notes that some of these added interventions can feel overly aggressive when they reduce speed.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.76% compared with last year.
• This year brings a refreshed cabin, simpler controls, and a much better infotainment system.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $41,056, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,305 average.
• It offers a well-rounded, comfortable, and refined package with strong engines and sharp handling.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the refreshed formula with only minor updates and remains a good-value, comfortable three-row SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated tech, refinement, and current-market inventory, the 2025 is the strongest choice. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the same basic formula with only minor changes.

How does the 2025 Acura MDX compare to the 2025 Honda Pilot?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 Acura MDX:

• Pros: Stylish design, Comfortable, Easy-to-use technology.
• Cons: Poor fuel economy, No hybrid or plug-in hybrid option, Cramped third row.

2025 Honda Pilot:

• Pros: Practical for daily living, Plenty of cargo space, Great safety ratings.
• Cons: Unimpressive fuel economy, Technology looks outdated, Front passenger seat lacks adjustment.

Our experts score the 2025 Acura MDX 7.8/10 and the 2025 Honda Pilot 6.5/10. The MDX is the more polished and tech-forward choice, while the Pilot leans harder into practicality and cargo space. If you want a more upscale cabin and easier-to-use technology, the Acura has the edge; if you want a more family-focused utility vehicle, the Honda is the more straightforward pick.
