How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 10.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,430 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns an expert rating of 7.83/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It fits well if you want a three-row luxury SUV with simple controls, intuitive technology, and a comfort-focused driving experience. The refreshed design and updated cabin help it feel more polished than before, and the easy-to-use interface is a major part of its appeal.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the standard V6 is somewhat underwhelming, and the third row is cramped. It also leans more toward refinement than excitement, so if you want stronger acceleration or more space in the back, you may want to keep shopping.

With 39.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to find a competitive example.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2025 Acura MDX is described as stylish, comfortable, and easy to use, with updates that make it more appealing than before.

Its expert evaluation also emphasizes refined everyday behavior, with good power from the standard V6, smooth and consistent body motions, and a quiet, comfortable highway ride. The refreshed model’s simpler interface and added sound insulation also support an ownership experience that should feel polished and low-stress.

Acura’s updated infotainment and driver-assistance systems are presented as more accurate and refined than before, which is a good sign for day-to-day dependability. The standard AcuraWatch features performed well in testing, aside from a false lane-departure notification and one intersection scenario it could not handle cleanly.

Acura also includes only the first scheduled maintenance visit during the first year or 12,000 miles, so you should factor routine upkeep into your long-term budget. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that this is not an efficient SUV, so higher fuel costs can add up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and how the SUV feels on the road, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on refinement and ease of use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model is nicely equipped, but the lineup adds Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance equipment. The new A-Spec Advance trim blends maximum luxury with a sportier look, while the MDX Type S Advance tops the lineup with maximum acceleration and handling.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-liter V6 makes 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission. SH-AWD is optional on the base and Technology trims, standard starting with A-Spec, and lower trims use front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking. AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Alexa Built-in and Google Built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. AcuraLink connected services and an AT&T 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation calls fuel economy poor, and the test vehicle averaged 18.4 mpg on a mixed driving loop. The A-Spec Advance is EPA-rated at 21 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 6 trim levels: base, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, and Type S Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the value starting point, and it is nicely equipped for shoppers who want the MDX’s core strengths without stretching the budget. It gives you the refreshed design, the new infotainment system, and the standard AcuraWatch safety suite.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the sportier and more expensive versions. It also brings front and rear parking sensors, low-speed automatic braking, and upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier look and standard SH-AWD. It adds more visual presence and moves you into a trim with stronger all-around appeal if you want style plus traction.
• Advance: This is the comfort-focused choice if you want a more upscale cabin and added luxury features. It builds on the MDX’s refinement and suits buyers who care most about a premium daily-driver feel.
• A-Spec Advance: This is the most luxurious sport-leaning trim, combining the A-Spec appearance with Advance-level equipment. It’s the right pick if you want the richest mix of style and comfort short of the performance model.
• Type S Advance: This is the performance flagship, with the turbocharged V6, maximum acceleration and handling, and AcuraWatch 360. It makes sense if you want the most capability and the most advanced safety package.

AcuraWatch 360 is exclusive to the Type S Advance, while the standard AcuraWatch suite is shared across the rest of the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,430 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $47,838, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $47,838 sits slightly below last year's $53,449.

That price movement suggests the MDX has softened enough to help used buyers now, but it also means sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you own one, the current market is still respectable, but you should expect buyers to compare your listing closely against similarly equipped rivals.

For a future seller, the strongest resale position will likely come from well-kept examples with clean history and desirable equipment. Higher trims may still attract attention, but fuel economy and the lack of a hybrid option can limit long-term pricing strength.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 Acura MDX earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, and the 2024 model earned the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and Traffic Jam Assist. Starting with Technology, you also get front and rear parking sensors and low-speed automatic braking.

AcuraWatch 360 debuts for 2025 as an exclusive feature on the Type S Advance. It adds front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist.

The main caveat is that the standard lane-centering setup can feel unnatural when used with adaptive cruise control turned off, and the lane-departure warning notification is not especially polished. Even so, the standard system performed well overall in testing.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.50% compared with last year.
• The refreshed cabin and simpler, more intuitive tech make this year especially appealing.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $41,561, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,838 average.
• It is a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong engines, sharp handling, and lots of standard features.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the refreshed formula and remains focused on comfort, quality, and easy-to-use technology.
• It changes only slightly, with minor updates to color availability.

The bottom line: If you want the most appealing version of the MDX’s refreshed formula, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense only if you want the latest model year and are comfortable paying more for very similar content.
