Used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport cost?

Prices have softened 11.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,358 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

It is aimed at you if you want the Atlas formula without the third row, and for 2024 it adds a significant refresh, different styling, and more standard features. The updated turbocharged four-cylinder engine is meant to make it more competitive in the midsize crossover segment, and the standard feature set is a clear strength.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the back seat is cramped, performance is fairly pedestrian, and the ride quality is poor. If you value a practical two-row SUV with plenty of cargo space and a modern feature set, it fits that brief well.

39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Atlas Cross Sport’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward gas-only powertrain, standard safety equipment, and a refresh that adds more standard features without making the vehicle more complicated. The turbocharged four-cylinder is described as working well with the eight-speed automatic, and Volkswagen’s scheduled maintenance coverage adds some ownership support early on.

Volkswagen includes two years or 20,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, which is a useful perk for the first stretch of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a vehicle with a lot of standard tech and driver-assistance hardware can be more expensive to sort out if prior maintenance or repairs were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with larger wheels. Focus on cabin condition, ride quality, and how the tech and driver-assistance features operate in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE starts with 18-inch alloy wheels, while SE with Technology and SEL models move to 20-inch wheels, the SEL R-Line adds sportier styling elements, and the SEL Premium R-Line gets 21-inch wheels. The base trim also misses some of the richer interior touches found higher up, including leather seats on SEL and higher models and quilted leather upholstery on the top trim.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive or optional 4Motion all-wheel drive. Volkswagen says it should be quicker than the prior VR6 model, and the engine is tuned for regular fuel.
• Safety package: IQ.Drive is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Travel Assist. SEL and SEL R-Line add predictive adaptive cruise control, while the Premium R-Line adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless phone charging. The setup also supports a USB-C dash cam port on SE with Technology and above models.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA ratings are 23 mpg combined, 20 mpg city, and 27 mpg highway with front-wheel drive, or 22 mpg combined, 19 mpg city, and 26 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

Which 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport trim should I buy?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SE with Technology, SEL, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the refreshed styling, the 12-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, and the full IQ.Drive safety suite. It is the trim to consider if you want the lowest-cost way into the updated Cross Sport.
• SE with Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful everyday equipment without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims. It also brings the USB-C dash cam port, which is a practical bonus if you want easier dash cam installation.
• SEL: This trim adds more comfort and convenience, including leather seats and a head-up display. It is a good fit if you want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top.
• SEL R-Line: This trim layers on sportier styling elements and model-specific wheels, plus predictive adaptive cruise control. It makes sense if you want the more distinctive look and extra driver-assistance capability.
• SEL Premium R-Line: This is the most fully equipped version, with quilted leather upholstery, 21-inch wheels, the premium audio system, park assist, and a surround-view camera system. Choose it if you want the most features and the most upscale presentation.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the higher trims add extra driver-assistance features and parking aids.

• Inventory: There are 2,358 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.

What is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport's resale value?

The current average of $30,111 sits slightly below last year's $34,015.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean less upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you are starting from a lower baseline than last year’s shoppers.

The good news for future resale is that the model’s refreshed feature set and strong standard equipment should help it stay relevant with used buyers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport safe?

The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side-impact crash testing and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

IQ.Drive is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and Travel Assist. SEL and SEL R-Line models add predictive adaptive cruise control, while the Premium R-Line adds park assist and a surround-view camera system.

The IIHS had not released ratings for this model year at the time of publication, so you should lean on the standard safety equipment and the NHTSA results when evaluating it.

Should I buy a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Volkswagen’s 2024 refresh adds more standard features, updated styling, and a more powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

The bottom line: If you want the refreshed version with more standard equipment and a stronger feature set, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may be worth a look, but you give up some of the updates that make this one more competitive.
