How much does the 2024 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 3.32% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 10,935 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, the large screen, and the engine’s reliability. The expert assessment also points to its roomy cabin and practical usefulness, which fits a compact SUV that’s aimed at everyday family duty and long-term ownership.

The trade-offs are that it can feel overpriced versus similar models, and the driving experience is described as noisy and dull. Even so, the RAV4’s broad appeal makes sense if you want a practical, proven SUV rather than something flashy.

Good and great deals account for 40.2% of listings, so there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the expert assessment reinforces that with language describing the engine as bulletproof and the SUV as dependable. Toyota also backs the RAV4 with free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which adds a useful ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is age-related wear rather than a lack of basic durability, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re considering, even if the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch wear, prior damage, or neglected maintenance before you commit. Focus especially on cabin condition, infotainment operation, and how the vehicle drives at highway speeds.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas lineup ranges from the LE to the TRD Off-Road, and the higher trims bring a more upscale cabin with contrast-color interior choices. The base LE also misses blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, so that’s an important feature gap to note.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 203 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard unless you choose the torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system, and the engine is described as powerful for the class but loud and unrefined when pushed.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The base LE does not include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The Toyota Audio Multimedia system includes a standard 8-inch touchscreen, an available 10.5-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and connected services. The setup is sophisticated, but the interface can be distracting in some situations.
• Fuel efficiency: The TRD Off-Road is rated at 28 mpg in combined driving, and the evaluation route returned 26.6 mpg.

Which 2024 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE Premium, Limited, TRD Off-Road.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, but it’s also the trim where you give up blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. It makes sense only if you’re focused on the lowest price and can live with the most basic equipment.
• XLE Premium: This is the best-value choice if you want a more upscale cabin without jumping to the top of the range. The contrast-color interior choices make it feel noticeably nicer than the lower trims.
• Limited: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale everyday RAV4 experience. It builds on the cabin upgrades and suits you best if comfort and features matter more than price.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the most specialized version, with AWD, off-road suspension tuning, an underbody skid plate, all-terrain tires, and Multi-Terrain Select. It’s the right pick only if you want the rugged character and can accept that it’s not a true off-road specialist.

The safety-package gap on the LE is the key trim-level note to keep in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 10,935 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.32% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,580, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $30,543 sits slightly above last year's $29,562.

That upward move suggests the RAV4 is holding demand well in the used market. For a future seller, that’s a positive sign because it indicates buyers are still willing to pay for this model year’s reputation and utility.

The price trend also points to steady market confidence rather than a sharp drop in desirability. If you maintain the vehicle well and keep mileage reasonable, you should have a solid shot at preserving value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2024 RAV4 does not qualify for the latest Top Safety Pick award from IIHS, and it has a Marginal rating in the small overlap frontal-impact test plus an Acceptable rating in the side-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assist. The system works best on straighter highways, while the lane-centering can be a little intrusive on curving roads and the adaptive cruise control can brake more aggressively than you’d like in some traffic situations.

The main caveat is that the RAV4’s safety results reflect its age, so you should not assume every trim delivers the same level of protection or driver-assistance coverage. The base LE also lacks blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.32% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a dependable, roomy, practical setup with gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid drivetrains.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,559, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $30,543 average.
• It’s a dependable, family-friendly compact crossover with broad mainstream appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing transparency, and proven usefulness, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the smarter value play as long as you’re comfortable with a slightly older model year.
