How much does the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander cost?

There are 1,934 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

It stands out as a bigger, more fuel-efficient alternative to the regular Highlander, with extra space and two different hybrid powertrains that make it especially appealing if you want a three-row crossover with strong practicality. The expert test drive data also highlights plenty of cargo space and standard advanced safety features.

The trade-offs are clear: poor handling and too many subscription-dependent tech features. Even so, if you value room, efficiency, and versatility more than sharp driving dynamics, this model fits that use case well.

The market still looks reasonably healthy, with 38.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is presented as a practical family hauler with Toyota’s reputation for reliability, and the expert review says the interior looks like it should hold up well over time. It also emphasizes that the model is built for everyday usefulness, with strong space and efficiency as part of its appeal.

The performance notes point to solid brakes, adequate acceleration, and a standard turbocharged four-cylinder that doesn’t leave you wanting for power in normal driving. Toyota also includes a broad standard safety suite, which supports confidence in day-to-day ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about whether the vehicle’s tech-heavy features and overall condition have been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on overall condition, signs of heavy family use, and whether the tech and safety systems work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE uses Softex synthetic leather, while the Limited and Platinum upgrade to real leather. The XLE also gets a 10-way power driver seat, heated front seats, and a front passenger seat with eight-way adjustability, while the higher trims add ventilation and a heated steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The model also offers a 2.5-liter hybrid and a 2.4-liter Hybrid Max setup, giving you a choice between efficiency and stronger output.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The standard suite is a major plus across the lineup.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-device Bluetooth connectivity. Some connected features, including the intelligent assistant and cloud-based navigation, require subscriptions.
• Fuel efficiency: Gas-powered FWD models return 21 mpg city and 28 highway, while AWD gas versions vary by trim. The hybrid powertrain is rated at 36 mpg city, 32 highway, and 34 combined in XLE form, and the Hybrid Max returns 26 mpg city, 27 highway, and 27 combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the best-value choice if you want the Grand Highlander’s core strengths without paying for extras you may not need. You still get the standard safety suite, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, and the practical interior layout that makes this model appealing in the first place.
• Limited: This trim is the sweet spot if you want a more upscale feel. It adds real leather, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the JBL 11-speaker stereo, making it a stronger pick if you care about comfort and cabin refinement.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most premium version of the lineup and are willing to pay for it. It builds on the Limited with the highest-end presentation and can be equipped with Portobello upholstery when paired with the top-spec engine.

Toyota’s standard safety package is included across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,934 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,435, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $43,435 sits slightly below last year's $46,140.

That decline suggests the market has softened enough to give you better buying leverage today, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to move the vehicle. If you buy at the right number now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The Grand Highlander’s strong mix of space, efficiency, and family usefulness should help it stay appealing to used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander safe?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander has yet to be crash-tested or rated by either NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 comes standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The adaptive cruise system also offers four following-distance settings.

A key strength here is that the full driver-assistance suite is standard, so you don’t need to climb the trim ladder for core safety tech. The main caveat is that there are no official crash-test results yet.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the all-new model year, with extra space, two hybrid powertrains, and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with the strongest mix of space, efficiency, and standard safety, the 2024 is the right path. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully within this year’s inventory and target the lower end of the range for better value.
