Used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander for Sale nearDes Moines, IA

How much does the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander cost?

Prices have softened 6.15% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,874 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, and the expert rating is 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

The Grand Highlander is aimed at you if you want a bigger three-row crossover with more room than a regular Highlander, plus strong efficiency and a family-friendly layout. It brings plenty of cargo space and standard advanced safety features, but it is not especially rewarding to drive, and it also has too many subscription-dependent tech features.

The model’s 38.8% good and great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Grand Highlander is presented as a practical family SUV with Toyota’s reputation for reliability, and the expert review also says its interior looks like it will hold up well over time. Its standard gas engine is described as more than adequate for everyday driving, while the hybrid options broaden the lineup for shoppers who want efficiency.

Toyota also emphasizes fuel efficiency across the range, which can help reduce day-to-day ownership strain. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a vehicle this new may still have unknown wear patterns, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, electronics, and any signs of hard family use. Since this is a large three-row SUV, make sure the cargo area, second row, and third row all match the seller’s description of condition.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLE uses Softex synthetic leather, while the Limited and Platinum upgrade to real leather. The XLE also gets heated front seats, and the higher trims add ventilation and a heated steering wheel, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to comfort-feature gaps.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine, a 2.5-liter hybrid, or the Hybrid Max setup. The gas engine makes 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, while the hybrid lineup is tuned more toward efficiency and the Hybrid Max is the strongest performer.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The adaptive cruise system offers four following-distance settings.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-device Bluetooth connectivity. Connected-services features such as the intelligent assistant and cloud-based navigation require a subscription, so you should factor that into ownership.
• Fuel efficiency: Gas-powered models with FWD return 21 mpg city and 28 highway, while AWD gas models vary by trim. The hybrid powertrain is more efficient, with XLE trims rated at 36 mpg city and 32 highway, and the Hybrid Max returns 26 mpg city and 27 highway.

Which 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is offered in 3 trim levels: XLE, Limited, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• XLE: This is the best-value choice if you want the Grand Highlander’s core strengths without paying for luxury extras. You still get standard heated front seats, a 10-way power driver seat, wireless smartphone integration, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, so it covers the essentials well.
• Limited: This trim is the better pick if you want a more upscale daily driver. It adds real leather, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the JBL audio system, making it the sweet spot for shoppers who want more comfort and convenience.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most premium version of the lineup. It can be equipped with Portobello upholstery when paired with the top-spec engine, and it sits at the top of the range for shoppers who want the fullest feature set.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims to get the core driver-assistance package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,874 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.15% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 88.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $43,624, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander’s resale value?

The current average of $43,624 sits slightly below last year's $46,481.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If prices stay stable, that same softness may also limit how much depreciation you absorb in the near term. For a future seller, the key advantage is that this model’s family-friendly appeal and efficiency-focused identity should keep it relevant with used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist, road-sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The adaptive cruise system also offers four following-distance settings, which gives you a little more flexibility in traffic.

The main caveat is that this model has not yet been crash-tested or rated by NHTSA or IIHS, so you do not have published crash-test results to lean on yet.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out for its extra space, strong fuel efficiency, and the availability of two different hybrid powertrains.

The bottom line: If you want the Grand Highlander’s roomy three-row layout and efficiency-focused appeal, the 2024 is a strong target year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can keep shopping for the best deal, but the current market already gives you a decent mix of inventory and softened pricing.
