New & Used 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander for Sale nearDes Moines, IA

Is the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander a good car?

The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander is a strong choice if you want a spacious, seven-seat family crossover with real third-row usability and more practicality than the regular Highlander. Toyota positions it as the middle ground between the Highlander and the Sequoia, so you get a larger cabin and family-friendly packaging without stepping into the size and ownership tradeoffs of a full-size SUV.

Its appeal is strongest if you want a comfortable, efficient three-row SUV with a lot of space. Toyota says fuel economy is good for something this large, and the trim walk adds useful equipment such as wireless smartphone integration, three-zone climate control, a power liftgate, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 on the LE. The tradeoffs are worth keeping in mind, though, because Toyota also calls out cumbersome handling, subscription-heavy tech, and some reliability concerns.

With 40.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you a decent chance to find a favorable price.

Is the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander reliable?

The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander is presented as a practical family crossover with a strong focus on everyday usability, but Toyota also flags some reliability concerns. That means you should think of it as a vehicle with broad appeal and useful packaging, while still paying attention to condition and maintenance history.

Toyota’s own overview also points to issues that shoppers should not ignore, including owner complaints about a vibrating hood, a clicking sound when turning, engine warning lights, and a booming noise inside the cabin. Those are the kinds of concerns that make a careful pre-purchase inspection especially important.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is moderate enough that you should verify the vehicle’s history and condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and confirm there are no prior collision repairs, even when the market looks clean overall. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, suspension, and powertrain behavior, especially if you notice unusual noises, warning lights, or vibration during a test drive. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since those will matter most for a three-row family SUV that may have seen heavy daily use.

Should I buy a 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

The bottom line:

The 2026 is the right path if you want the latest version of this spacious, family-focused crossover and you value strong market availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2026 gives you a solid mix of inventory, deal potential, and clean listings.
