How much does the 2024 Subaru Impreza cost?

Is the 2024 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — you get a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for shoppers who want an affordable all-wheel-drive economy car with more capability than many rivals. The 2024 Impreza stands out for standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and smart features, while the revived RS trim adds a more engaging driving character.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Cost effectiveness.

The main trade-off is that it is more of a refresh than a full redesign, so the changes may feel incremental if you were hoping for a dramatic reinvention. Even so, the combination of practicality, traction, and value makes it a strong fit if you want a compact car that can handle everyday use with a little extra personality.

36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Impreza is presented as a practical all-weather compact car with standard all-wheel drive, and the expert review emphasizes that it is easy to live with and well suited to daily use. Its performance notes also point to a compliant ride and confident handling, which are the kinds of traits that usually make ownership feel less tiring over time.

The cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that it remains a smart purchase for its capabilities, ease of use, and fun driving dynamics. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the concept and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Impreza?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on overall condition, signs of wear, and whether the car has been used the way the seller claims. Pay extra attention to how the cabin, controls, and drivetrain feel on a test drive, since those details tell you a lot about how the car has been treated.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base model uses two 7-inch displays, while the Sport and RS trims get the larger 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen. The RS also adds side skirts and red interior accents, so the lower trims are the ones to inspect most closely if you want the more basic equipment set.
• Powertrain: The Base and Sport trims use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while the RS upgrades to a 2.5-liter engine with 182 hp and 178 lb-ft. Both use a CVT, AWD is standard, and the Sport and RS add steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles.
• Safety package: All trims include the EyeSight driver assist suite with frontal collision warning and automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering. The Sport adds Starlink communications features with automatic collision notification, enhanced roadside assistance, and an SOS button, while the RS adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on all trims, and wireless connectivity is standard on the Sport and RS. The Sport and RS also get Starlink features and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is estimated to return 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while the RS is rated only 1 mpg less across the board.

Which 2024 Subaru Impreza trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza is offered in 3 trim levels: Base, Sport, RS.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, but it still gives you standard AWD and the core Impreza formula at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and do not need the larger screen or extra convenience features.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Starlink features, and the sportier handling setup. If you want the strongest mix of equipment and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• RS: This is the one to buy if you want the most power and the most complete feature set. It adds the 2.5-liter engine, more responsive performance, and the extra safety equipment, making it the best choice if you want the most engaging Impreza.

The safety package starts with EyeSight on every trim, while the RS adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Impreza?

The market looks selective rather than overheated, so you have room to shop carefully and still find a decent deal.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,465 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 86.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,060, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $22,843 sits slightly below last year's $23,387.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A clean, well-kept Impreza should still attract interest because it offers standard AWD and strong everyday usefulness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Subaru Impreza safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All 2024 Subaru Imprezas come with the automaker’s EyeSight driver assist suite of safety features that include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and lane-centering. Stepping up to the Sport model adds the Starlink communications features that comes with automatic collision notification, enhanced roadside assistance and an SOS button. The top RS trim adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency steering that will swerve the vehicle out of the way of trouble if certain conditions are met.

Crash-test results from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) are not yet available, but Subaru is targeting a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The revived RS trim adds a welcome dose of driver excitement while keeping the Impreza’s standard AWD and practical everyday character.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, traction, and updated features, the 2024 is the one to target. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but the 2024’s combination of softened pricing, solid inventory, and standard AWD makes it the better all-around choice for most used-car shoppers.
