Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.3% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,174, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $48,197 average.
• It offers strong off-road capability and a comfortable cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $56,390, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $48,197 average.
• It adds more refinement and durability for demanding heavy-duty use.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around starting point if you want a capable heavy-duty truck with a strong mix of value, satisfaction, and available inventory. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter alternative because it lands just below the current-year average while keeping much of the same appeal.
