Used 2024 Polestar 2 for Sale nearPortland, ME

Is the 2024 Polestar 2 a good car?

The 2024 Polestar 2 earns an 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It’s a stylish electric car that’s meant to stay fresh with a range boost, revised styling, and powertrain changes, and it fits buyers who want something fun to drive with impressive electric range. The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, the ergonomics are poor, and it’s considered poor value for money.

That said, the market still shows 46.2% of listings as good or great deals, which helps offset some of the value concerns if you find the right example.

Is the 2024 Polestar 2 reliable?

The 2024 Polestar 2 is a relatively new EV from a brand with roots in Volvo, and its updated powertrain and larger battery pack suggest a modern, well-developed design. Its performance tuning and range improvements point to a car that’s engineered to feel polished rather than experimental.

The battery warranty covers eight years or 100,000 miles and guarantees at least 70% of original capacity during that period, which is a meaningful backstop for used-EV ownership. Polestar also says the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes on the single-motor model and 34 minutes on the dual-motor version, which is useful if you plan to rely on DC fast charging.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is battery and charging wear, so you’ll want to confirm healthy charging behavior and a clean service history before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Polestar 2?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 94% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report, verify the car’s condition carefully, and prioritize a thorough inspection of the battery, charging system, tires, brakes, and interior controls. Because this is an EV with a screen-heavy interface, it’s also worth checking that all software functions, cameras, and driver-assist features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup is simple, with Long Range Single Motor and Long Range Dual Motor configurations. The single-motor setup is the better value if you want the longest range and lower starting price, while the dual-motor version adds all-wheel drive and more performance. The base setup is also missing some convenience and safety equipment that appears on higher-spec versions or packages.
• Powertrain: The single-motor model switches to rear-wheel drive for 2024, uses a larger 82-kWh battery pack, and makes 299 horsepower and 362 pound-feet of torque. The dual-motor version adds a front motor for all-wheel drive, keeps the 78-kWh battery pack, and makes 421 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, cross traffic alert, park assist, and a 360-degree camera system. The optional Pilot Pack, standard on AWD models, adds adaptive cruise control and Pilot Assist highway-driving support.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.2-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in apps, Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store, plus wireless Apple CarPlay. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is included as well.
• Range & charging: Single-motor models are rated at up to 320 miles with the standard 19-inch wheels, while dual-motor versions are rated at 260 miles with 19-inch wheels. DC fast charging reaches up to 205 kilowatts on the single-motor model and 155 kW on the dual-motor version.
• Battery health: Check the battery’s state of health, confirm that charging speeds are normal, and ask how the car has typically been charged. Home charging is usually easier on the battery than frequent DC fast charging, and you should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2024 Polestar 2 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Polestar 2 is offered in 2 trim levels: Long Range Single Motor and Long Range Dual Motor.

Here's the short version:

• Long Range Single Motor: This is the best-value choice if you want the longest range, the lower starting price, and the updated rear-wheel-drive setup. It delivers the strongest mix of efficiency and everyday usability, and it’s the trim to focus on if you care most about range and price.
• Long Range Dual Motor: Choose this if you want all-wheel drive and stronger acceleration. It’s the quicker, more powerful option, but it costs more and gives up some range compared with the single-motor model.

The optional Pilot Pack adds adaptive cruise control and Pilot Assist, and it’s standard on AWD models.
