Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearFlagstaff, AZ

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 6.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 10,388 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The Altima’s value case is anchored by its attractive starting price, available all-wheel drive, and standard safety tech. It also stays easy to live with thanks to comfortable seating and straightforward technology, which makes it a sensible fit for commuting and routine family use.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is pedestrian, and the cabin materials are unimpressive. The Bose stereo is also lacking.

The current market shows 37.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima’s reliability case is helped by its established sixth-year design and its reputation as a familiar, time-tested sedan. The expert evaluation also points to a well-rounded ownership experience, with comfortable seating, easy-to-use technology, and available all-wheel drive supporting everyday dependability.

Its performance is described as adequate, and the CVT can get noisy under harder acceleration, but the overall package is built around straightforward use rather than complexity. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a nice ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a car this focused on value can feel less refined as mileage climbs, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering an AWD example or a higher-trim car with more equipment. Focus on cabin condition, since material quality is a known weak point and wear can show up quickly in a used sedan.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SV, SR, and SL trims give you a clear ladder of equipment, with the base S missing some of the nicer convenience and tech touches found higher up. The SL adds more upscale features, while the SR brings a sportier presentation.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder is adequate rather than exciting, while the VC-Turbo engine adds more power on the SR. AWD is available on the SV, SR, and SL, but not with the VC-Turbo.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is available on SV and standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo, while the SL and SR VC-Turbo also add a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Most trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while the base S uses a 7-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only with the largest 12.3-inch display.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD setup is described as returning 26 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined, while the VC-Turbo with FWD returns 25 mpg city, 34 highway, 29 combined.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SR, and SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value entry point, but it’s the most basic version and misses some of the nicer tech and convenience upgrades found higher in the lineup.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it opens the door to more equipment and can be paired with AWD, making it the most balanced choice for everyday use.
• SR: Choose this if you want the more powerful VC-Turbo engine and a sportier feel, but it’s more about added performance and equipment than pure value.
• SL: This is the most upscale mainstream trim, with the larger touchscreen, more premium features, and the fullest standard equipment list.

ProPilot Assist is available on SV and standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo, while the SL and SR VC-Turbo also get the surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 10,388 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,773, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $19,779 sits slightly below last year's $21,239.

That decline suggests the Altima is currently in a softer pricing phase, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. A lower market average can also mean future resale gains may be more gradual unless demand tightens.

For a seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain records, you’ll be better positioned when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but it also scores four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is available on SV and standard on SL and SR VC-Turbo, and those higher trims also add a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition.

The main caveat is that the 2024 model has not matched the earlier Top Safety Pick+ result because of poor performance in IIHS side-impact testing.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Altima relevant with value, available AWD, and easy-to-use tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,201, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $19,779 average.
• It offers comfort, simple tech, and strong safety in a shrinking sedan segment.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $20,682, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $19,779 average.
• It adds a value-packed SV Special Edition Package and keeps the cabin approachable.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current pricing and inventory, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you’re shopping strictly on price, the 2024 also makes the most sense because it undercuts the nearby model years while still delivering the core Altima strengths.
