Used 2024 Mazda CX-90 for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-90 cost?

Prices have softened 9.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,882 listings available, which gives you a healthy pool of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 Mazda CX-90 earns a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for shoppers who want a three-row crossover that’s more engaging than most family haulers. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Mazda positions it as a stylish, upscale-feeling SUV, and the expert review backs that up with praise for its elegant design, premium materials, and strong road presence. It also stands out for its rear-wheel-drive architecture and turbocharged straight-six or PHEV powertrains, which help it feel more driver-focused than many rivals.

The main trade-offs are the PHEV electric range and the technology. The expert review calls out the PHEV’s limited EV range and notes that the infotainment setup can be frustrating to use.

For you, that means the CX-90 makes the most sense if you want family space without giving up driving enjoyment. 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there’s meaningful market choice if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-90’s reliability case is helped by Mazda’s emphasis on solid engineering and the model’s strong overall execution in the expert review. The powertrain lineup is modern and ambitious, with a turbocharged inline-six and a plug-in hybrid option, and the review describes both as impressive from a driving standpoint.

The performance notes also point to a well-developed chassis and composed handling, which usually matters for long-term ownership because it suggests the vehicle was engineered with balance and durability in mind. Mazda also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership experience, which can help reduce early service friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a more complex powertrain and a tech-heavy cabin can mean more to evaluate carefully before you buy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-90?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share doesn’t replace a clean record on the specific vehicle you’re considering. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or a trim with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, how the technology operates, and whether the powertrain feels smooth in normal driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CX-90 lineup spans multiple trims, and the lower trims won’t feel as upscale as the top models. The review notes that higher trims bring more luxurious interior materials, while the base versions are less striking.
• Powertrain: You can shop turbocharged inline-six versions or a plug-in hybrid. The inline-six is praised for power and character, while the PHEV adds efficiency and electric driving capability, though its EV range is a weak point.
• Safety package: i-Activsense comes standard and includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, smart brake support with front-crossing and turn-across-traffic identification, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add cruising and traffic support.
• Infotainment: The CX-90 uses Mazda Connect with a rotary controller instead of a native touchscreen for core functions. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, and wireless phone projection is available in higher-level trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The PHEV is rated at 56 MPGe combined and has 26 miles of all-electric range, with 490 miles of total driving range.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-90 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 is offered in 11 trim levels: Turbo Select, Turbo Preferred, Turbo Preferred Plus, Turbo Premium, Turbo Premium Plus, PHEV Preferred, PHEV Premium, PHEV Premium Plus, Turbo S, Turbo S Premium, Turbo S Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• Turbo Select: This is the entry point, and it makes the CX-90’s core strengths accessible at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the styling, standard safety tech, and standard AWD without paying for extra luxury features.
• Turbo Preferred: This is a smart step up if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should suit you if you want more comfort than the base trim without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Turbo Preferred Plus: This trim adds more polish and is a good fit if you want a more upscale feel while staying below the premium end of the lineup.
• Turbo Premium: This is where the CX-90 starts to feel more like a luxury alternative. It’s a strong choice if you want a richer cabin and more features without going all the way to the top.
• Turbo Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it sits near the sweet spot between equipment and price. If you want the most complete gas-powered CX-90 without paying for the flagship badge, this is the one to focus on.
• PHEV Preferred: Choose this if you want plug-in hybrid efficiency and electric driving capability in the most accessible PHEV trim.
• PHEV Premium: This is the better pick if you want the PHEV powertrain with a more upscale feature set.
• PHEV Premium Plus: This is the most appealing PHEV choice if you want the plug-in setup and the richest equipment mix.
• Turbo S: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the upgraded inline-six and the strongest output in the lineup. It suits you if driving enjoyment matters more than minimizing cost.
• Turbo S Premium: This is for buyers who want the Turbo S character with added comfort and luxury.
• Turbo S Premium Plus: This is the top-spec choice if you want the most powerful CX-90 with the fullest feature set.

i-Activsense is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up just to get core driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-90?

It’s a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping the 2024 CX-90, because pricing has eased and inventory is broad enough to give you leverage.

• Deal availability: 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,882 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,488, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-90's resale value?

The current average of $30,488 sits slightly below last year's $33,690.

That decline suggests the CX-90 has already moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help future resale by making today’s purchase less inflated. If you buy at or below the current average, you reduce the risk of starting from an overpriced position when it’s time to sell.

The model’s strong design, premium feel, and desirable powertrains should help it stay appealing to used shoppers. A vehicle that feels upscale and drives well tends to hold attention better than a more ordinary family SUV.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-90 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-90 has not been crash-tested by the IIHS or NHTSA, so there isn’t a formal crash-test result to cite yet.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

i-Activsense comes standard on every CX-90 and includes blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, smart brake support with front-crossing and turn-across-traffic identification, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add cruising and traffic support, which blends lane-centering with adaptive cruise control.

The main caveat is that the model’s crash-test record is still pending, so you should lean on the standard safety equipment and a careful inspection rather than assuming results from other Mazda models will carry over unchanged.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 brings Mazda’s new turbocharged inline-six and plug-in hybrid setup, plus standout handling.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $33,160, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $30,488 average.
• It keeps the CX-90’s distinctive powertrain choices while adding a more refined overall package.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the stronger buy because it combines lower pricing with broad inventory and the same core appeal. If you’re willing to pay more for the newer model year, the 2025 is the better path for shoppers who want the latest version and don’t mind the higher entry cost.
