Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 4,627 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It fits you best if you want a compact crossover with a rugged-leaning design, standard all-wheel drive, and a polished cabin. The trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and poor value for money, so it makes more sense if style, usability, and a more upscale feel matter more than driving excitement or bargain pricing.

With 39.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50’s reliability case is helped by its straightforward gasoline powertrain lineup, standard all-wheel drive, and conventional six-speed automatic transmission. It also benefits from a practical setup that avoids overly complex hardware, which can be a plus for long-term ownership.

Mazda’s warranty coverage is comparable to many mainstream brands, and the base model’s standard equipment gives you a solid starting point. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a higher-mileage example may show the usual wear-and-tear issues of a crossover that’s been used for daily driving and occasional rougher-road duty.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that’s been used on rougher roads. Focus on tire wear, brake condition, and signs of cosmetic or underbody damage, since the CX-50’s rugged-leaning mission can invite more adventurous use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.5 S Select is the least expensive entry point, but higher trims add more upscale touches, and the Meridian Edition stands out with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. Base models’ manually adjustable front seats are a reminder that the lower trims are less premium than the upper grades.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine across the lineup, with turbocharged versions on higher trims. The standard setup makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models are rated at 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87-octane fuel.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance tech includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: A 10.25-inch infotainment screen is standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay is included. Android Auto requires a cable, and higher trims add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is EPA-rated at 27 mpg combined, 24 mpg city, and 30 mpg highway. Turbo models return 25 mpg combined, 23 mpg city, and 29 mpg highway.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 8 trim levels: 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive, 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and core safety tech without pushing the price too high. It makes sense if you want the CX-50’s rugged styling and standard equipment at the lowest cost.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value without jumping into turbo pricing. It should be the best-value choice for many shoppers who want more comfort than the base model.
• 2.5 S Premium: This trim is a good middle ground if you want a more upscale feel and more convenience features while staying with the non-turbo engine. It suits you if you care about daily comfort more than maximum power.
• 2.5 S Premium Plus: This is the right pick if you want the most fully equipped non-turbo CX-50. It’s the trim to consider if you want a near-top experience without paying for turbo performance.
• 2.5 Turbo: Choose this if you want the stronger engine and the extra towing capacity that comes with it. It’s the best fit if performance and capability matter more than fuel economy.
• 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition: This is the most distinctive trim, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more rugged visual cues. It suits you if you want the CX-50’s outdoorsy look to be front and center.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium: This is the better choice if you want turbo power plus more comfort and tech than the standard Turbo trim. It’s a strong option if you want a richer daily-driver experience.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: This is the top trim, so it’s the one to buy if you want the most equipment and don’t mind paying for it. It makes sense if you want the most upscale CX-50 available.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,627 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,831, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $27,812 sits slightly above last year's $27,801.

That small year-over-year increase suggests the CX-50 has held its value fairly steadily. For a future seller, that kind of price stability is helpful because it points to a market that isn’t swinging sharply in either direction.

The year-round range also gives you a useful benchmark for timing your sale. If your vehicle is clean, well maintained, and priced near the upper end of the range, you should have a better shot at attracting serious shoppers without having to discount heavily.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it received five-star frontal crash-test and four-star rollover crash-test ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.

One caveat is that the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling with standard all-wheel drive and a polished cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,123, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $27,812 average.
• It offers a stylish, adventure-oriented feel with strong performance.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,072, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,812 average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain that improves fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the current model-year balance of price stability, standard AWD, and a more upscale cabin, the 2024 is the primary pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2023 is worth a look for a lower entry cost, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the hybrid efficiency upgrade and can spend more.
