Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearErie, PA

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 4,740 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — with a 4.75/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating, the 2024 Mazda CX-50 lands in the solid-but-not-class-leading range. The model’s appeal comes from its rugged-leaning design, standard all-wheel drive, and classy interior, while the expert verdict also notes that it’s aimed at outdoorsy shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more adventurous look.

The trade-offs are just as clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the model is described as poor value for money. That makes it a better fit if you want a stylish, everyday crossover with a tougher personality than if you’re chasing the most engaging or best-priced option in the segment.

The market still shows healthy interest, with 44.6% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive, straightforward mechanical setup, and mainstream 2.5-liter engine lineup point to a familiar, low-drama ownership experience rather than a complicated one.

Its dependability story is also helped by the fact that the powertrain is shared across the lineup and the model is positioned as a practical daily driver. Mazda’s warranty coverage is comparable to many mainstream rivals, which adds some reassurance for used buyers.

If you’re shopping used, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a model that delivers more style than excitement.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re looking at a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on tire condition, brake wear, and signs of hard use, since this model is aimed at active lifestyles and may have seen more demanding driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans eight trim levels, and the biggest differences are equipment and appearance rather than dramatic styling changes. Lower trims use 17-inch wheels, while higher grades move to 20-inch wheels, and the base cabin’s manually adjustable front seats are a reminder that the entry model is still fairly basic.
• Powertrain: Every CX-50 uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive. The non-turbo version makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models increase output to 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87-octane fuel.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a rotary controller instead of a touchscreen. Android Auto requires a cable, while higher trims add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is EPA-rated at 27 mpg combined (24 city/30 highway), while the turbo drops to 25 mpg combined (23 city/29 highway).

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 8 trim levels: 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Premium Plus, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition, 2.5 Turbo Premium, and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5 S Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the CX-50’s core appeal: standard all-wheel drive, the rugged design, and the basic safety and tech setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it’s also the trim where the value concerns are easiest to feel.
• 2.5 S Preferred: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it adds useful comfort and convenience without pushing you into the pricier turbo models. It’s the best-value choice if you want the CX-50’s style and standard AWD without overpaying for extras you may not need.
• 2.5 S Premium: This is the step-up choice if you want a more polished daily driver and are willing to pay for more equipment. It suits you if you care more about cabin feel and convenience than keeping the purchase price down.
• 2.5 S Premium Plus: This is for buyers who want a more fully equipped non-turbo CX-50 and are comfortable paying near the top of the naturally aspirated range. It’s the right pick if you want to maximize features without moving to turbo power.
• 2.5 Turbo: Choose this if you want stronger acceleration and the higher towing rating that comes with the turbo engine. It’s the best fit if performance matters more to you than fuel economy.
• 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition: This is the style-first choice, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. It suits you if you want the CX-50’s rugged image dialed up, but the content also notes extra noise from the tires and roof platform.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium: This is the better-balanced turbo choice if you want more power and more equipment without going all the way to the top trim. It’s the sensible upgrade for buyers who want a richer feature set and stronger performance.
• 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus: This is the top-end pick for shoppers who want the most equipment and don’t mind paying for it. It’s the trim to choose if you want the most complete CX-50 experience.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and the 360-degree camera remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick action.

• Deal availability: 44.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,740 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 90.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,824, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $27,696 sits slightly above last year's $27,578.

That small increase suggests the CX-50 has held its value fairly well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to a market that is neither overheating nor collapsing.

The model’s rugged styling and standard all-wheel drive should continue to support demand among shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more adventurous look. That said, its value-for-money reputation may keep resale gains modest rather than exceptional.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and received five-star frontal crash-test and four-star rollover crash-test ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, a driver attention monitor, and emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist. Rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.

One caveat is that the standard headlights were rated only “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 44.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling with standard all-wheel drive and a classy interior.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,967, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $27,696 average.
• It offers a stylish, adventure-minded design with standard safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $28,845, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,696 average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain that improves efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, strong inventory, and the CX-50’s rugged appeal, the 2024 is the safest all-around pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value; if you want better efficiency and can spend more, the 2025 is the upgrade to consider.
