Used 2024 Lucid Air for Sale nearMinneapolis, MN

Is the 2024 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2024 Lucid Air earns an expert rating of 7.8/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

It comes across as a complete luxury sedan rather than an EV that asks you to compromise, and the overview emphasizes its exceptional range, upscale feel, and stylish design. The expert review also highlights how seriously Lucid has engineered the car, with the Sapphire trim pushing acceleration, handling, and range to extreme levels.

The trade-offs are real, though: the Sapphire trim’s interior disappoints, and the controls for basic features are unintuitive. Even so, the Air’s mix of speed, style, and superior range makes it especially appealing if you want an EV that can serve as your main luxury car.

Good and great deals account for 35.7% of listings, which gives you a useful signal that there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2024 Lucid Air is presented as a polished, well-developed EV with strong engineering behind it, and the expert review says Lucid has spent years refining the car with help from top mechanical and software talent. The performance write-up also suggests the car is composed and predictable in daily driving, with suspension tuning that handles rough pavement impressively well.

The tech side looks more settled than before, with the review noting that earlier software bugs appear to have been resolved and that the displays were quick and responsive during testing. Lucid also updated the lane-departure warning behavior so it no longer fights the driver as it once did.

The car’s charging setup is another practical strength: it supports 300-kW DC fast charging and can charge at up to 19.2 kW at home, which helps make ownership easier if you can install home charging. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a high-end EV like this can be expensive to sort out if prior owners neglected software updates, charging habits, or warranty-covered issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not replace a clean title check and service records. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on software behavior, charging performance, and whether the cabin controls and displays operate as intended. Pay extra attention to wear on high-spec cars, since expensive trims and options can hide costly issues.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, and Sapphire. The entry-level Pure is the value-oriented choice, while the Sapphire is the extreme performance model; the Glass Canopy is not available on Pure, and the Sapphire does not offer it either.
• Powertrain: The Pure is rear-wheel drive with a single motor, while the Touring is all-wheel drive with dual motors. The review notes the Pure’s 430 horsepower and the Touring’s 620 hp, and it also points out that the Air’s ride and handling remain strong across the lineup.
• Safety package: DreamDrive comes standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. DreamDrive Pro is a semi-automated highway assist, but it is not approved for hands-free use.
• Infotainment: You get a 34-inch curved display housing with three separate 5K screens. Wireless Apple CarPlay works well, and Android Auto is planned through an over-the-air update.
• Range & charging: The Pure is cited at 410 miles of range, the Touring at 411 miles, and the Grand Touring is said to approach 516 miles with the smallest wheels. The battery pack is 92 kWh on the Pure and Touring, and the car supports 300-kW DC fast charging.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging history, and confirm whether the car has mostly been charged at home or frequently fast-charged. Also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have.

Which 2024 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the best-value trim. It is the single-motor, rear-wheel-drive version, and the review calls it the best bet on specs for the price with 430 horsepower, a 410-mile range, and a 4.5-second 0-60 mph time.
• Touring: This is the step-up choice if you want all-wheel drive and more power. It brings 620 hp and a dual-motor setup, while still keeping the Air’s core luxury-sedan character intact.
• Grand Touring: Choose this if range matters most and you want the longest-distance version. The review says it can approach the claimed 516-mile EPA range with the smallest wheels.
• Sapphire: This is the halo model if you want the most extreme performance. It uses three motors and is described as the quickest, most capable version, but the interior disappoints and it is far more expensive than the rest of the lineup.

The safety package note is simple: DreamDrive is standard, and DreamDrive Pro is available as a more advanced highway-assist system.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air safe?

The Lucid Air has neither been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

DreamDrive comes standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. Lucid also offers DreamDrive Pro, a semi-automated highway assist that is not approved for hands-free use.

One caveat worth keeping in mind is that the Air does not have published U.S. crash-test ratings here, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the condition of the specific used car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• The 2024 update brings drastic price cuts and a new Sapphire trim that pushes performance even further.

Consider the 2023 if:

• It offers a strong first-effort luxury EV feel with stylish design and impressive range.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, range, and updated performance, the 2024 is the better target. If you’re shopping more carefully on price and can live with an older version of the formula, the 2023 remains worth a look.
