Used 2024 Lucid Air for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

Is the 2024 Lucid Air a good car?

The 2024 Lucid Air earns an expert rating of 7.8/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

The data points to a luxury EV that feels like a true premium sedan rather than a battery-first compromise. It is described as the longest-range EV, with a stylish design and a complete luxury-car feel from top to bottom. The expert review also says it is fun to drive, and the 2024 update adds a Sapphire trim that pushes acceleration, handling, and range even further.

The trade-offs are that the Sapphire’s interior disappoints and the controls for basic features are unintuitive.

For you, that means the Air makes the most sense if you want an upscale electric sedan with standout range and strong driving character, not just efficiency. Market availability is also favorable, with 42.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air reliable?

The 2024 Lucid Air is presented as a well-developed electric sedan with a decade and a half of engineering behind it, and the expert review says the software issues seen earlier appear to have been resolved. The cabin and driving experience are described as polished, and the car’s home-charging-friendly setup makes it especially practical if you can install charging at home.

The performance notes also suggest a robust EV package: the Air uses a 900-volt architecture with 300-kW DC fast charging, and the battery and charging system are built for serious long-distance use. The cost-effectiveness notes add that the Air can work as someone’s only car if you have home charging.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the battery, charging behavior, and software history have been well cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lucid Air?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury EV where software, charging, and feature operation matter as much as mechanical condition. Focus on how the car has been charged, whether the displays and controls work properly, and whether the cabin and trim show signs of heavy use. If you are considering a Sapphire, pay extra attention to interior condition and equipment completeness.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Pure is the entry point and skips the Glass Canopy, while the Sapphire is the extreme-performance version with unique wheels, a single color, and no Glass Canopy. The base trim’s feature set is lighter than the higher trims, so check whether the equipment you want is standard or optional.
• Powertrain: The Pure is rear-wheel drive with a single motor, while the Touring is dual-motor all-wheel drive. The Air lineup also includes higher-output versions, and the performance notes show that the car’s acceleration and efficiency vary meaningfully by trim.
• Safety package: DreamDrive is standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. DreamDrive Pro is a semi-automated highway assist, but it is not approved for hands-free use.
• Infotainment: You get a 34-inch curved housing with three separate 5K displays. Wireless Apple CarPlay works well, Android Auto was not available on the test vehicle but is expected later via OTA update, and the software is described as quick and responsive.
• Range & charging: The Pure is listed with a 410-mile range, the Touring with a 411-mile range, and the Grand Touring is said to approach a claimed EPA-rated 516 miles. The battery is 92 kWh in the Pure and Touring, and 112 kWh in the Grand Touring and Sapphire. DC fast charging is rated at 300 kW, and home charging can reach 19.2 kW.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should confirm battery state-of-health, ask how often the car has relied on DC fast charging versus home charging, and review how much battery warranty coverage remains. A clean charging history and normal daily charging habits are especially important.

Which 2024 Lucid Air trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lucid Air is offered in 4 trim levels: Pure, Touring, Grand Touring, Sapphire.

Here's the short version:

• Pure: This is the best-value choice if you want the lowest entry price and strong specs for the money. It is rear-wheel drive, and the performance notes call it the best bet on a specs-for-price basis.
• Touring: This is the step-up trim if you want dual-motor all-wheel drive and more power without jumping to the expensive upper end. It adds meaningful performance while keeping the Air’s core luxury and range appeal.
• Grand Touring: This is the long-range pick if maximum distance matters most. It is the trim tied to the claimed EPA-rated 516-mile range, making it the one to target if range is your top priority.
• Sapphire: This is the halo model if you want the most extreme performance and don’t mind the price. The data says it outperforms every series-production EV in acceleration, handling, and range, but its interior disappoints and it is far more expensive than the rest of the lineup.

DreamDrive comes standard, and DreamDrive Pro is the semi-automated highway assist upgrade.

Is the 2024 Lucid Air safe?

The Lucid Air has neither been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

DreamDrive is standard and includes forward and rear emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, auto high beams, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. DreamDrive Pro adds semi-automated highway assist, but it is not approved for hands-free use.

A key caveat is that the Air has no U.S. crash-test ratings from either major testing body, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and the condition of the specific vehicle you are considering.

Should I buy a 2024 Lucid Air or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 42.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• The 2024 update adds the Sapphire trim, which is said to outperform every series-production EV in acceleration, handling, and range.

Consider the 2023 if:

• It offers a strong first-effort luxury EV with stylish design, spaciousness, and impressive range.

The bottom line: If you want the most complete version of the Air with the strongest performance story and better market conditions, the 2024 is the better target. If you are more price-sensitive and mainly want the Air’s range, style, and premium feel, the 2023 can still make sense.
