Is the 2024 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2024 Lexus IS is presented as a compact luxury sports sedan with a long-running reputation for being fun to drive, and it also benefits from a broad list of standard safety and convenience equipment. That combination makes it appealing if you want a premium-feeling sedan with a familiar feature set.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s character and more about whether the specific example has been maintained well, since you’ll want to protect yourself against wear, prior damage, or deferred upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,346 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,098, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $41,098 sits slightly below last year's $42,417.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.11% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 Lexus IS makes the most sense if you want a compact luxury sedan with a sporty personality, strong feature content, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a slightly older example gives you a lower entry point without giving up the character you want.
