Is the 2024 Land Rover Discovery a good car?

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery stands out as a three-row midsize SUV that blends luxury with real off-road ability. It appeals most if you want a refined SUV that can still handle rough terrain, and it also offers improved on-road manners compared with earlier versions.

The Discovery’s standard four-wheel drive, upscale cabin, and added technology help it feel modern and capable, while its luxury-focused character makes it a fit for buyers who want comfort without giving up all-terrain credibility. At the same time, the infotainment can be slow and distracting, on-road handling is poor, and the third row is better suited to small passengers than adults.

With 40.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Discovery reliable?

The 2024 Land Rover Discovery is presented as a refined, capable SUV with a comfortable character and a more modern feel than earlier versions. Its standard four-wheel drive and updated technology support its appeal for buyers who want luxury and utility in one package.

At the same time, the slow infotainment and the model’s more complex feature set mean you should be thoughtful about condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-kept example with clear service records and a careful pre-purchase inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Discovery?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and verify that the vehicle’s service records are complete, especially if you plan to keep it long term. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the infotainment system, interior electronics, and overall wear, since those are the kinds of areas that can affect your ownership experience. Focus on condition, maintenance consistency, and whether the SUV has been used in ways that match its luxury-and-capability mission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Discovery?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market, with pricing down from last year and a meaningful share of listings already tagged as strong deals.

• Deal availability: 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 567 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 96.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,469, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Discovery's resale value?

The current average of $41,475 sits slightly below last year's $53,768.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you keep the SUV clean, documented, and mechanically sound, you give yourself the best chance of protecting value when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Discovery or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 96.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.86% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want a luxury three-row SUV with genuine off-road ability and a market that currently favors buyers. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 stands out as the primary choice when you want the latest version in this price range.
