Is the 2024 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the 2024 Sportage backs that up with a well-rounded mix of style, technology, and value. It offers a modern cabin with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Kia Connect. It also gives you multiple powertrain choices, including hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, which broadens its appeal if you want flexibility in how you shop.

For everyday use, the Sportage is positioned as a practical compact SUV with strong comfort and convenience features, plus available upgrades like a panoramic sunroof and heated and ventilated front seats. The 37.5% share of good or great deals suggests you still have room to find a competitive listing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sportage is described as a well-rounded compact SUV with extensive standard driver-assistance equipment and a broad feature set, which supports confidence in daily use. Its 2024 model-year update was minimal, so you are looking at a mature version of this generation rather than a fresh redesign.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and has not picked up hidden damage or wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sportage?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the vehicle’s background and check for prior damage, title issues, or inconsistent mileage. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and any equipment tied to the trim level, since the Sportage’s appeal depends heavily on its tech and convenience content.

Also pay close attention to overall condition, because pricing rises quickly as equipment is added and you want to make sure the asking price matches the vehicle’s actual wear and feature set.

The current average of $25,826 sits slightly above last year's $25,228.

That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable price trend can help support resale confidence, especially when demand remains broad across shoppers looking for a compact SUV with strong tech and multiple powertrain choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.37% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,045, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $25,826 average.
• It offers a stylish, tech-forward, and spacious package.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad set of listings to compare, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you much of the same core appeal.
