2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid
EX AWD
81,624 mi
$25,489
Overview
The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid is one of many hybrid models offered by the Korean automaker. It shares the spacious, upscale interior and friendly styling of the non-hybrid Sorento, but with better fuel economy and a surprisingly nice driving experience.
What’s New for the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid
Kia gave the non-hybrid Sorento variant an update for 2024, but hybrid and plug-in hybrid models will have to wait for 2025 to see substantive changes. The Sorento Hybrid enters 2024 with no differences compared to the year before.
Design
The 2024 Sorento Hybrid comes in two trims with unique wheel designs and exterior accents. Entry-level EX models get 18-inch wheels, while the top SX Prestige steps up to 19-inch rollers. It also adds chrome trim, fog lights, and upgraded headlights over the base trim.
Powertrain
Kia equips a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with one electric motor making a combined 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is available, with a six-speed automatic transmission in either case.
The Sorento Hybrid feels livelier than the standard gas model, thanks in part to its electric motor, which delivers more torque at lower rpm. It feels surprisingly quick in traffic, and fuel economy reaches an EPA-estimated 39 mpg city and 35 mpg highway with FWD. AWD drops those numbers a bit to 26 mpg city and 33 mpg highway.
The Sorento Hybrid is clearly tuned more for comfort than performance, offering a comfy ride and agreeable handling in most situations. The tradeoff is slightly less-aggressive handling and a somewhat numb steering feel at times.
Interior
The SUV comes standard with synthetic leather upholstery and heated, power-adjustable front seats. Upgrading to the SX Prestige brings genuine leather upholstery and ventilated front seats, along with a heated steering wheel. Passengers see ample space in both rows of seating, and there’s good support and padding throughout.
Technology
A 10.25-inch touchscreen comes standard and is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation, six speakers, wireless charging, and dual-zone climate control are also standard. The SX Prestige adds a Bose audio system, a household power outlet, and upgraded speakers. Kia made its infotainment interface easy to use, even while driving, making interacting with the SUV less distracting.
Safety
The Sorento Hybrid comes well-equipped with safety equipment out of the box. Standard kit includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure alert, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control. Upgrading to the SX Prestige adds a blind spot camera system and a surround-view monitor.
Pricing
As of this writing, the 2024 Sorento Hybrid starts at $38,365 after a $1,375 destination charge. The SX Prestige starts at $44,165. While Kia doesn’t generally offer a ton of standalone options, there is a $1,300 panoramic sunroof package available for both trims.

How much does the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $30,139 |
| Year-Round Low | $30,139 |
| Year-Round High | $34,170 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $34,170 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −11.80% |
Prices have softened 11.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 593 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid a good car?
The 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid is a moderate-market choice, which means you should expect a balanced mix of value and availability rather than a clear bargain or a premium-priced outlier. The current average used price of $30,139 also sits below the prior-year average, which supports a more buyer-friendly setup than last year.
With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of inventory that may be worth a closer look.
What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the listing matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage, uneven tire wear, or signs of prior bodywork. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how the hybrid system feels during a test drive.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid?
This is a moderate time to shop if you’re selective and willing to compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 593 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 91.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $30,139, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $30,139 sits slightly below last year's $34,170.
That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy at a more favorable point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well your vehicle stands out against the current inventory. If you keep the vehicle clean, well maintained, and accident-free, you’ll be in a stronger position when it’s time to sell.
Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sorento Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2024 if:
- 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.80% compared with last year.
The bottom line: The 2024 is the better primary choice if you want a newer model-year hybrid with a solid supply of clean listings and a softer price trend. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it can still make sense to compare nearby years for the lowest upfront cost, but the 2024 gives you a strong balance of availability and market value.
