How much does the 2024 Kia K5 cost?

Prices have softened 5.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,697 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated car with an expert rating of 7.2/10. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Kia K5 is positioned as a stylish, comfortable, enjoyable, and technologically advanced midsize sedan, and it’s especially appealing if you want strong value in a family car. Turbocharging is standard, and all-wheel drive is available if you want extra traction.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the interior materials feel cheap, and the car’s real-world fuel economy is unimpressive.

The model’s 34.3% good-or-great deal share also points to a market where you can still find attractive pricing.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kia K5 is described as an excellent value with a strong factory warranty plan, which helps support confidence in ownership. It also includes an engine immobilizer system, and the expert evaluation highlights that the car is a bargain if you can overlook its fuel economy and crash-test concerns.

The performance notes point to a turbocharged setup with a healthy amount of torque from low rpm, plus a transmission that delivers rapid, decisive shifts. Kia also says the car offers one of the best factory warranty plans available.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the same issues that affect day-to-day satisfaction — fuel economy and safety concerns — can also shape ownership confidence over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia K5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping outside the cleanest listings. Focus on overall condition, because the car’s value proposition is strongest when the cabin, brakes, and safety equipment are all in good shape.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT each bring a different mix of style and equipment. The GT-Line sits one step up from the base LXS and one step down from the more upscale EX, while the GT is the budget sports-sedan choice. Base trims miss some of the nicer touches, and the GT-Line gains standard heated seats for 2024.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic. The GT uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 290 horsepower, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and front-wheel drive only. All-wheel drive is available with GT-Line.
• Safety package: Every K5 gets Kia Drive Wise, including forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard equipment also includes automatic high beams, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert. Higher equipment levels can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, navigation-based adaptive cruise with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The LXS has an 8-inch touchscreen, while other trims get a 10.25-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless in the LXS and wired in the more expensive versions. The larger display adds navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Kia Connect services, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT-Line is rated at 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg combined with all-wheel drive. The GT is rated at 27 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Kia K5 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia K5 is offered in 4 trim levels: LXS, GT-Line, EX, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• LXS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core K5 experience at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the most affordable way into the model and can live with the smaller 8-inch touchscreen.
• GT-Line: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the sporty look, all-wheel-drive availability, and for 2024, standard heated seats. It also gets the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, making it the sweet spot if you want more features without jumping to the pricier trims.
• EX: This is the more upscale choice if you want a richer equipment mix and a more premium feel than the GT-Line. It’s the trim to target if comfort and convenience matter more than the sportier appearance.
• GT: This is the one to buy if you want the most performance. It pairs the stronger turbocharged engine with a sport-tuned suspension, quicker steering, bigger brakes, larger wheels, and Sport+ mode with launch control.

Every 2024 K5 includes Kia Drive Wise, and higher trims can add more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia K5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,697 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia K5's resale value?

The current average of $24,661 sits slightly below last year's $25,983.

That softer pricing suggests the K5 is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal rather than broad market momentum.

Because the model still has strong value positioning and a healthy share of accident-free listings, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia K5 safe?

The 2024 Kia K5 earns low scores in updated IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact and side-impact tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 K5 has Kia Drive Wise, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, active blind-spot monitoring, active rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and safe exit warning. Standard safety equipment also includes automatic high-beam headlights, a driver monitoring system, a rear-seat reminder system, and Leading Vehicle Departure Alert.

Higher trims can add cyclist detection, automatic intersection braking, front and rear parking sensors, rear automatic braking when parking, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, navigation-based adaptive cruise with curve speed control, and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is the updated IIHS result, which is a meaningful concern if crash protection is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia K5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the standard turbo engine, available AWD, and heated GT-Line seats for this year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $27,356, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $24,661 average.
• It brings updated styling, new tech, and more standard features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you’d rather pay more for the refreshed look and updated tech, the 2025 is the alternative to consider.
