Used 2024 Kia EV9 for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2024 Kia EV9 cost?

Prices have softened 5.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 767 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia EV9 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia EV9 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

The EV9 stands out as Kia’s all-new flagship and one of the few fully electric three-row SUVs, so you get a family-focused EV with a clear market identity. It is also described as well-appointed, comfortably sized, stylish, and unusually innovative, while still aiming to feel familiar and approachable behind the wheel.

The main trade-offs are that it is expensive and has a medium electric range. Even so, the EV9’s spacious third row and strong tech make it especially appealing if you want a practical three-row EV rather than a conventional crossover with an electric powertrain.

With 37.5% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Kia EV9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The EV9 is presented as a vehicle that combines new ideas with a refreshingly familiar driving experience, which is a good sign if you want something innovative without feeling experimental to live with. Its power delivery is described as smooth and refined, and its regenerative braking can be adjusted to feel natural, even comparable to a modern gas-powered vehicle.

Kia also emphasizes the EV9’s long-term ownership appeal through its connected feature set, which lets owners add features later instead of committing to everything at purchase. The cost-effectiveness discussion also points to Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, which is a meaningful ownership advantage for used buyers.

For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that battery range and charging behavior matter more than they do on a gas SUV, so you should pay close attention to battery health and how the vehicle was charged over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia EV9?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a newer EV with premium pricing and complex tech. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the vehicle’s equipment matches what you expect from the trim you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EV9’s styling and equipment vary by trim, with the top two trims adding a Digital Pattern Lighting Grille and the Land and GT-Line bringing more upscale lighting and interior touches. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps, especially if you want the more advanced lighting and comfort upgrades.
• Powertrain: The base setup is a single-motor rear-wheel-drive layout with 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, while higher trims use dual motors and all-wheel drive. Range and output vary by trim, so make sure the configuration matches your driving needs.
• Safety package: The EV9’s standard driver-assistance suite is comprehensive, including navigation-based adaptive cruise control with machine learning and stop-and-go capability, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance. Blind-spot View Monitor is limited to Land and GT-Line, and reverse parking collision avoidance assist is reserved for the top two trims.
• Infotainment: You get a three-screen curved display with a 12.3-inch driver display, a 5-inch climate display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, OTA capability, and a wireless charging pad are standard.
• Range & charging: The base EV9 has an EPA-estimated range of 230 miles and a 76.1-kWh battery, while the Light Long Range uses a 99.8-kWh battery and reaches 304 miles. Kia says DC fast charging should take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should ask about battery state-of-health, review charging habits, and confirm whether the vehicle was mostly charged at home or relied heavily on DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2024 Kia EV9 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia EV9 is offered in 5 trim levels: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land, GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry point if you want the EV9’s core three-row EV experience at the lowest price. It uses a single-motor rear-wheel-drive setup and gives you the standard tech and safety foundation, but you should expect fewer luxury and convenience extras than the higher trims.
• Light Long Range: This is the best-value trim if range matters most. It adds the larger battery and stretches driving range to 304 miles, making it the smartest pick for buyers who want the EV9’s practicality without moving into the pricier dual-motor trims.
• Wind: This trim steps up to dual-motor all-wheel drive and a stronger output, so it suits you if you want more traction and a more powerful all-around setup without going all the way to the top trim.
• Land: This is the trim to consider if you want a more upscale feel, including the Blind-spot View Monitor and the 14-speaker Meridian Premium Audio system. It also gets the more distinctive lighting treatment, making it a strong middle-ground choice.
• GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich and performance-oriented version, with the highest output, standard head-up display, and the most advanced trim-specific safety and convenience content. It makes sense if you want the fullest EV9 experience and are willing to pay for it.

The EV9’s standard safety suite is comprehensive, but some advanced features are limited to Land and GT-Line, so those trims are worth a close look if safety tech is a priority.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia EV9?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 767 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,731, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia EV9's resale value?

The current average of $41,566 sits slightly below last year's $43,851.

That softer pricing suggests the EV9 has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its market cycle, which can help future resale if you buy at the right price. If depreciation continues at a measured pace, a well-kept example should remain attractive to shoppers who want a rare three-row EV with strong tech and family utility.

Because the EV9 is still a distinctive and relatively uncommon model, condition and equipment will matter a lot when you eventually resell it. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia EV9 safe?

The 2024 Kia EV9 has not been rated for safety as of this writing.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Its standard driver-assistance suite is broad and includes navigation-based adaptive cruise control with machine learning and stop-and-go capability, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance. Blind-spot View Monitor is limited to Land and GT-Line trims, and reverse parking collision avoidance assist is reserved for the top two trims.

One caveat is that some of the most useful visibility and parking aids are not standard on every trim, so you should verify the exact equipment on any used listing you consider.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia EV9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as Kia’s all-new flagship and one of the few fully electric three-row SUVs, with a refreshingly familiar driving experience and strong tech.

The bottom line: If you want the newest EV9 experience with strong tech, a distinctive three-row EV layout, and a market that has softened a bit, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If you are more price-sensitive, focus on the best-equipped listings near the low end of the range and be flexible on trim to maximize value.
