How much does the 2024 Kia EV9 cost?

Prices have softened 6.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 723 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia EV9 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia EV9 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

The EV9 stands out as Kia’s all-new flagship and one of the few fully electric three-row SUVs you can shop, so it gives you family-size space without giving up electric power. It also brings a modern, distinctive design and a refreshingly familiar driving experience, which should help if you want something that feels easy to live with rather than overly experimental.

The main trade-offs are that it is expensive and its electric range is described as medium. Even so, the EV9’s spacious third row and well-appointed cabin make it especially appealing if you need real passenger room and want an EV that feels practical day to day.

33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia EV9 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The EV9 is presented as a well-appointed, comfortably sized SUV with a familiar driving feel, and its electric powertrain is described as smooth and refined. Its regenerative braking can be adjusted to feel natural, including one-pedal driving, which is a good sign for everyday usability if you’re new to EV ownership.

Kia also says the EV9 has fast-charging capability and should go from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes on a high-speed DC fast charger. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging behavior still match expectations, since EV ownership depends heavily on how the vehicle was charged and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia EV9?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where battery condition and charging habits matter. Focus on overall condition, charging-port health, and whether the vehicle has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base EV9 gets the core design and cabin experience, but the upper trims add more visual distinction and convenience features. The top two trims also get the Digital Pattern Lighting Grille, while Land and GT-Line add the Blind-spot View Monitor.
• Powertrain: The Light trim uses a single rear motor with rear-wheel drive, while the higher trims use dual motors and all-wheel drive. Output and range vary by trim, with the Light Long Range model prioritizing distance and the GT-Line prioritizing stronger performance.
• Safety package: The EV9’s standard driver-assistance suite includes navigation-based adaptive cruise control with machine learning and stop-and-go capability, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, blind-spot collision warning, forward collision avoidance, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance. Reverse parking collision avoidance assist is limited to the top two trims, and front and side versions are limited to the GT-Line.
• Infotainment: You get a three-screen curved display with a 12.3-inch driver display, a 5-inch climate display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a wireless charging pad and OTA update capability.
• Range & charging: The base Light is rated at 230 miles of range with a 76.1-kWh battery, while the Light Long Range uses a 99.8-kWh battery and reaches 304 miles. Kia says DC fast charging should take about 25 minutes from 10 to 80 percent.
• Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information, review charging history, and confirm whether the vehicle has mostly seen home charging or frequent fast charging. You should also check how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have as a used buyer.

Which 2024 Kia EV9 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia EV9 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry point and gives you the EV9’s core appeal with rear-wheel drive, a single motor, and the standard tech and safety foundation. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and don’t need the extra range or AWD hardware.
• Light Long Range: This is the best-value trim if range matters most, because it swaps in the larger battery and stretches driving distance to 304 miles. It’s the trim to target if you want the EV9’s family-friendly packaging with the strongest range story.
• Wind: This trim adds dual-motor all-wheel drive and a big jump in output, so it suits you if you want stronger all-weather traction and more power without going all the way to the top trim.
• Land: This trim adds more upscale touches, including the Blind-spot View Monitor and the 14-speaker Meridian Premium Audio system. It’s a good fit if you want a more premium-feeling EV9 without stepping into the range-topping GT-Line.

The safety package is comprehensive across the lineup, but some features are reserved for higher trims, so it’s worth comparing the standard equipment carefully before you decide.

What is the 2024 Kia EV9's resale value?

The current average of $41,875 sits slightly below last year's $44,954.

That softer pricing trend suggests the EV9 is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can matter if you’re thinking ahead to resale. If you buy at a favorable price now, you may have less depreciation pressure to absorb later.

The EV9’s strong appeal as a rare three-row EV, plus its high owner satisfaction, should help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia EV9 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 95.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the EV9’s all-new debut year, and it brings Kia’s distinctive three-row EV formula, strong tech, and later-term customization potential.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of Kia’s three-row EV with strong tech and a compelling market position, the 2024 is the one to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop carefully and look for a well-priced example near the low end of the range.
