Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Safety.

It stands out as a smart choice among all-electric sedans because it combines plenty of range with surprisingly sporty performance and a comfortable ride. That makes it especially appealing if you want an EV sedan that feels polished and practical in everyday use.

The main trade-offs are limited cargo space and styling that may not appeal to everyone. Even so, the car’s strong efficiency, comfort, and fun-to-drive character make it easy to recommend if you value range without giving up enjoyment behind the wheel.

39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is presented as a polished EV with strong everyday usability, and its expert evaluation emphasizes comfort, range, and straightforward operation. Its electric hardware is described as capable and quick-charging, and the driving experience is framed as smooth, quiet, and confidence-inspiring.

The performance notes also point to strong acceleration for the class and a battery setup that supports rapid DC fast charging when conditions are right. That combination suggests a well-sorted EV package rather than one that feels experimental or compromised.

If you buy used, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging system have been cared for properly, since those are the core ownership concerns on any EV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one that has seen frequent fast charging. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you’re shopping.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The styling is distinctive, the interior is elegantly simple, and the base setup already includes a modern digital cockpit, but the higher trims add more convenience and driver-assistance equipment.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, with the dual-motor setup delivering more power and added traction, while the single-motor version emphasizes range.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, intersection collision mitigation, parking proximity sensors, safe exit alert, and a driver attention monitor.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, plus wireless charging on SEL and up; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable.
• Range & charging: The rear-wheel-drive SE is rated at 361 miles of range, the battery is 77.4 kWh, and DC fast charging can take the pack from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes on a 350-kW charger.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection is left.

Which 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the longest range, since the rear-wheel-drive version is the range leader at 361 miles. It also gives you the core Ioniq 6 experience without pushing the price up as far as the higher trims.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds useful equipment like wireless charging, blind-spot collision intervention, cross-traffic collision mitigation, and Highway Driving Assist 2. It’s the sweet spot if you want more convenience and driver assistance without going all the way to the top trim.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete feature set, including a surround-view camera system, a blind-spot camera system, and low-speed collision mitigation. It makes the most sense if you want the most advanced convenience and visibility tech.

The safety package starts with strong standard equipment on every trim, while SEL and Limited add more advanced assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 695 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 91.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,757, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6's resale value?

The current average of $26,291 sits slightly below last year's $28,118.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively if they want to move the car quickly. The good news is that the model’s strong range, comfort, and efficiency should help support demand among shoppers looking for an EV sedan.

Because the price has already softened, resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, and how well the car has been maintained. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should hold up better than rougher or more basic ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard advanced safety features for all models include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, intersection collision mitigation, parking proximity sensors, safe exit alert, and a driver attention monitor. The SEL trim adds blind-spot collision intervention, cross-traffic collision mitigation, and Highway Driving Assist 2, while the Limited trim adds a surround-view camera system, a blind-spot camera system, and low-speed collision mitigation.

Those systems are described as working as advertised with no false alarms. The blind-spot camera system is useful, but it may feel distracting to some drivers because it requires you to look away from the road.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 91.5% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s praised for strong range, sporty performance, and a comfortable ride.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,461, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,291 average.
• It stands out for distinctive sedan styling and strong EV fundamentals.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2024 if you want the stronger current-market mix of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If you’re focused mainly on saving money, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you find a clean example with the equipment you want.
