Summary
With 540 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,460.00, 35.7% of 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 4.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 stands out first and foremost for its design. Hyundai’s latest EV has a look that is hard to ignore, and the production version of the Hyundai Prophecy concept gives it a capsule-shaped sedan profile that sets it apart from the more common electric crossover formula. It is also presented as one of the few electric cars that really looks the part, which makes its styling a defining part of its appeal.
Beyond the shape, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 carries over several of the strengths associated with Hyundai’s EV approach. It uses Hyundai’s E-GMP dedicated EV architecture, offers high-power charging, and includes a user-friendly infotainment system. The lineup includes Standard Range and Long Range battery packs, single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains, and SE, SEL, and Limited trim levels. In testing, the dual-motor AWD Limited model was praised for great handling, impressive electric range, and comfort.
The tradeoff is that the design may not be for everyone, and cargo space is limited. Even so, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is distinctive because it combines a striking sedan body with the practical strengths buyers expect from a modern EV.

My sole complaint with electric vehicles right now is that they feel sterile. They take away what makes/made driving enjoyable. For most, this is probably a non-issue, but for some, me included, a vehicle that provides feedback is a vehicle that makes driving worthwhile and pleasurable.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 a good car?
Yes — 4.67/5 from owners and 7.83/10 from experts. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 pairs a distinctive sedan shape with Hyundai’s E-GMP EV architecture, high-power charging, and a user-friendly infotainment setup. It is especially appealing if you want an electric sedan that stands apart from the usual crossover formula while still delivering practical EV strengths.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.
The main trade-offs are a potentially polarizing design and limited cargo space. That means you should like the styling enough to live with it, because the rest of the package is built around efficiency, comfort, and easy day-to-day use.
With 34.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a workable market if you shop carefully.
Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is built around Hyundai’s dedicated EV architecture, which supports the kind of charging and efficiency behavior you want from a modern electric car. Its expert evaluation also points to a comfortable, well-integrated package rather than one that feels experimental or unfinished.
The performance notes highlight a composed driving experience, with strong body control and smooth responses over bumps. On the ownership side, the battery warranty coverage helps reduce some of the risk that comes with buying a used EV, especially if you verify how the car was charged and maintained.
For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is battery condition and charging history, so you should confirm the pack’s health before you commit.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a vehicle history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where battery condition matters as much as cosmetic wear. Focus on charging behavior, tire wear, brake condition, and any signs of curb damage or underbody issues. If possible, ask how often the car was charged at home versus on DC fast chargers.

- Trim level: The SE gives you the core Ioniq 6 experience, but the SEL and Limited add more comfort and convenience equipment. The Limited stands out for front heated and ventilated seats, while the base SE uses cloth seats.
- Powertrain: You can shop single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive versions. The base setup makes 149 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while dual-motor AWD models increase output to 320 hp and 446 lb-ft.
- Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. SEL adds blind-spot collision avoidance assist and Highway Driving Assist 2, while Limited adds Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
- Infotainment: You get dual 12.3-inch displays, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only wired versions are available. Hyundai’s Digital Key feature is also included, and the system supports over-the-air-style connectivity through Bluelink services.
- Range & charging: EPA range reaches 361 miles in SE RWD Long Range form, while the base SE RWD Standard Range is rated at 240 miles. DC fast charging can reach up to 350 kW, with a 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes. The usable battery capacity is 53 kilowatt-hours on the base model and 77.4-kWh on the Long Range versions.
- Battery health: Check the battery state of health, confirm normal charging speeds, and review whether the car spent most of its life on home charging or frequent fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.
Which 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 trim should I buy?
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core design, EV architecture, and standard driver-assist features. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Ioniq 6, but you give up some comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up.
- SEL: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds meaningful safety and convenience upgrades, including blind-spot collision avoidance assist and Highway Driving Assist 2. It also keeps the Ioniq 6’s strong range and comfortable driving character intact.
- Limited: This is the most fully equipped version, with features like front heated and ventilated seats, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. Choose it if you want the most premium experience and are willing to pay for it.
The SEL is the trim that best balances equipment and value, while the Limited is the one to choose if you want the most advanced safety and convenience features.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 556 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 93.7% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $22,942.74, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6's resale value?
The current average of $25,539 sits slightly below last year's $26,894.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your future value will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and mileage. A clean history and strong battery health should matter more than ever in keeping the car attractive to the next buyer.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard driver-assist tech includes forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The SEL model adds blind-spot collision avoidance assist and Highway Driving Assist 2, while the Limited grade adds Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. Highway Driving Assist 2 also adds automated lane changes, vehicle cut-in response, and lane centering support, though you still need to keep your hands on the wheel.
One caveat is that the system’s automated lane changes can feel slow, and lane centering is not perfectly centered on every road. That means you should treat the advanced driver-assist features as helpful support, not a substitute for attentive driving.
Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.7% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It stands out for its striking sedan design, E-GMP EV architecture, and high-power charging.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $26,078, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $25,539 average.
- It offers plenty of range, sporty performance, and high comfort.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the stronger buy because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to pay a bit more for a newer model year, the 2024 is worth a look for shoppers who want the same basic formula with a fresh-year alternative.
