Summary
With 540 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,460.00, 35.7% of 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 4.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 stands out first and foremost for its design. Hyundai’s latest EV has a look that is hard to ignore, and the production version of the Hyundai Prophecy concept gives it a capsule-shaped sedan profile that sets it apart from the more common electric crossover formula. It is also presented as one of the few electric cars that really looks the part, which makes its styling a defining part of its appeal.
Beyond the shape, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 carries over several of the strengths associated with Hyundai’s EV approach. It uses Hyundai’s E-GMP dedicated EV architecture, offers high-power charging, and includes a user-friendly infotainment system. The lineup includes Standard Range and Long Range battery packs, single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains, and SE, SEL, and Limited trim levels. In testing, the dual-motor AWD Limited model was praised for great handling, impressive electric range, and comfort.
The tradeoff is that the design may not be for everyone, and cargo space is limited. Even so, the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is distinctive because it combines a striking sedan body with the practical strengths buyers expect from a modern EV.

Smart park assist to pull out from garage and park into narrow space is cool. Interior is spacious. Trunk is spacious. Drunk is small and useless, bad idea not to have a cover. My sole complaint with electric vehicles right now is that they feel sterile. They take away what makes/made driving enjoyable. For most, this is probably a non-issue, but for some, me included, a vehicle that provides feedback is a vehicle that makes driving worthwhile and pleasurable.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 a good car?
Yes — 4.67/5 from owners and 7.83/10 from experts. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 stands out for its distinctive sedan shape, dedicated EV architecture, high-power charging, and user-friendly infotainment. It is aimed at you if you want an electric car that looks different from the usual crossover formula while still delivering practical EV strengths.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.
The main trade-offs are a potentially polarizing design and limited cargo space. Even so, the driving experience is a strong fit if you value comfort, range, and a composed ride over outright sportiness.
35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is built around Hyundai’s E-GMP EV architecture, which supports high-power charging and a modern electrical setup. Its powertrain and battery packaging are designed for efficient EV use, and the expert review highlights strong range and a comfortable driving experience as part of its appeal.
The battery and charging setup also points to a well-developed EV ownership experience, with fast DC charging and a generous battery warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the battery and charging system have been cared for properly, since those are the most important wear points to verify on an EV.
What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on an EV where charging behavior and battery condition matter. Focus on overall condition, charging-port health, tire wear, and whether the car has been used mostly for home charging or frequent DC fast charging.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE is the most basic version, with cloth seats and fewer comfort features than the higher trims. SEL and Limited add H-Tex leatherette upholstery, and the Limited brings front heated and ventilated seats.
- Powertrain: You can shop single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive versions. The base setup makes 149 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the dual-motor AWD version increases output to 320 hp and 446 lb-ft.
- Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. SEL adds blind-spot collision avoidance assist and Highway Driving Assist 2, while Limited adds Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
- Infotainment: The cabin uses dual 12.3-inch displays. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but only wired versions are available, and Hyundai’s Digital Key feature is supported.
- Range & charging: EPA range reaches 361 miles in SE RWD Long Range form, while the base SE RWD Standard Range is rated at 240 miles. DC fast charging can reach up to 350 kW, with a claimed 10% to 80% charge in 18 minutes. Usable battery capacity is not stated here.
- Battery health: Ask for battery state-of-health information if available, confirm normal charging behavior, and check how much of the battery warranty remains. For a used EV, you want evidence of consistent charging habits and no warning signs in the battery or charging system.
Which 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 trim should I buy?
The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the entry point, and it makes the Ioniq 6’s core strengths accessible without pushing the price too high. If you want the cleanest path into the model and can live with the simpler cabin, this is the trim to start with.
- SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful comfort and safety upgrades without jumping all the way to the top model. It also brings the larger battery and higher-output motor in the Long Range versions, which makes it the most balanced choice if you want more range and more equipment.
- Limited: This is the one to choose if you want the most features, including the most advanced parking and camera tech, plus the most upscale cabin treatment. It suits you best if you want the fullest Ioniq 6 experience and are willing to pay for it.
The SEL and Limited trims also add safety and convenience equipment that the SE does not have, so they are the trims to focus on if those features matter most to you.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.
- Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 562 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 93.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $22,918.50, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6's resale value?
The current average of $25,512 sits slightly below last year's $26,909.
That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean slower appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the model’s distinctive design and strong EV appeal can help it stand out in a crowded market. The challenge is that resale will still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the battery and charging system have been maintained.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard driver-assist tech includes forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. SEL adds blind-spot collision avoidance assist and Highway Driving Assist 2, while Limited adds Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, a surround-view camera system, and Blind-Spot View Monitor. Highway Driving Assist 2 also adds automated lane centering and automated lane changes, though the system has some limitations in how smoothly it responds.
Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2023 if:
- 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.6% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.19% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2023 stands out for its striking sedan design, E-GMP EV architecture, and high-power charging.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $26,074, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $25,512 average.
- It adds a more broadly appealing mix of range, comfort, and sporty performance.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the smarter buy because prices have softened and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to pay a bit more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2024 is the cleaner choice for shoppers who want the same basic formula with a slightly more polished overall appeal.
