Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale nearSumter, SC

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 5.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,193 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

It’s a mixed but appealing choice if you want a compact sedan that prioritizes style, versatility, and value over luxury polish. It earns 3/5 from users and 7.33/10 from experts.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Elantra’s strongest case is that it offers multiple powertrain options and a manual transmission, so you can shop for efficiency or a more engaging drive. The tradeoff is that the design may not be for everyone, the base engine is underwhelming, and the interior materials can feel cheap.

For shoppers who want a well-mannered sedan with a sporty edge, that balance can work well. The market also shows 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Elantra is positioned as a well-sorted compact sedan with a five-year/60,000-mile warranty and three years of maintenance included. Its expert summary also describes it as practical, durable, and refined, which supports the case for long-term ownership.

The performance write-up points to a car that is broadly competent across its lineup, with efficient mainstream trims and stronger turbocharged or hybrid options if you want more from it. The cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that it is a strong value relative to rivals, which matters when you’re planning to keep a used car for several years.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a cheaper-feeling cabin and a broad range of trims can make condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper inspection. Pay close attention to trim-specific equipment, cabin wear, and whether the car has the features you expect for the price. If you’re comparing multiple listings, prioritize condition and equipment over simply chasing the lowest sticker.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, and Limited trims lose the lowered stance and sporty bumpers that help the car look more distinctive, and the base SE also misses the custom gauge layouts found on upper trims.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque with a CVT, while the N Line uses a 1.6-liter turbo-four with 201 hp and 195 lb-ft and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: The SE and N come standard with forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams. SEL trims with the Convenience Package and Limited trims add cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The Limited adds rear emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: The SE has an 8-inch touchscreen, while SEL-and-above trims get a 10.25-inch screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not supported, and blind-spot cameras are available only on the Limited trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The base SE is rated at 32/41/36, the SEL and Limited at 31/40/34, the N Line at 28/35/31, and the hybrid Blue trim at 51 mpg city, 58 mpg highway, and 54 mpg combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 7 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, N Line, N, Hybrid Blue, and Hybrid Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and the core Elantra experience, but you give up the larger screen and some of the nicer tech found higher up.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 10.25-inch touchscreen and moves the car closer to the sweet spot for everyday use.
• Limited: This is the most feature-rich mainstream trim, with blind-spot cameras, Highway Driving Assist, and the most complete safety and convenience setup.
• N Line: This is the trim to choose if you want the most balanced mix of comfort and response, plus the stronger turbocharged engine and sportier character.
• N: This is the enthusiast choice if you want the most power and the most aggressive driving experience, but it is the least relaxed option.
• Hybrid Blue: This is the efficiency-focused pick if fuel economy is your top priority.
• Hybrid Limited: This is the better-equipped hybrid choice if you want efficiency without giving up as much comfort and technology.

The Limited trim is the only one with blind-spot cameras, and Highway Driving Assist is standard only on the Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,193 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,469, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $19,579 sits slightly below last year's $20,705.

That decline suggests the market has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you sell later, the same trend can work against you somewhat, especially if you own a higher-trim or less common version that takes longer to find the right buyer.

The good news is that the Elantra’s broad appeal, strong value story, and wide trim range should help it remain easy to shop in the used market. The downside is that a softer pricing environment can compress resale returns if you plan to trade it in soon.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for the front passenger and five-star ratings for the driver and for front and rear passengers in the side tests. The IIHS named it a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a driver attention monitor, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and auto high beams. SEL trims with the Convenience Package and Limited trims add cyclist detection, front cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, while the Limited adds rear emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, and Highway Driving Assist.

There are a couple of caveats to keep in mind: IIHS did not perform all of its standard crash tests, and the new frontal crash test showed worse results than the 2021 Elantra. Rear passengers also had a higher risk of injury despite added rear side airbags for 2024.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.44% compared with last year.
• The 2024 refresh adds more style and standard equipment.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $18,963, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $19,579 average.
• It is roomy, safe, efficient, and technologically advanced.

The bottom line: choose the 2024 if you want the fresher styling and added equipment, especially if you value the broader market selection. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter path because it delivers much of the same core appeal for less.
