Why it stands out
The 2024 Honda Pilot stands out as a roomy, feature-rich midsize SUV that leans into practicality without giving up modern convenience. It offers seating for eight, and Honda’s “magic” second-row seats let the middle seat be removed and stored under the rear cargo floor, which adds flexibility for families and cargo-hauling duties. The Pilot also comes with a generous set of standard driver-assist features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot information, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-departure warning, and cross traffic monitor.
Technology is another strength. Base Sport models include a seven-speaker sound system, a seven-inch infotainment screen, a seven-inch driver information screen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Higher trims add a nine-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, a wireless phone charger, CabinTalk, and even a 12-speaker Bose audio system on the Touring trim. The Pilot also brings useful capability touches such as available all-wheel drive with extra drive modes, plus TrailSport hardware aimed at buyers who want a more rugged look and off-road-friendly setup.
There are tradeoffs, though. The Pilot’s fuel economy is described as average, and some buyers may find the interior materials feel cheap. User feedback also points to mixed feelings about engine performance and handling, along with disappointment over missing equipment such as tow hitch wiring harnesses at the price. Even so, the 2024 Honda Pilot remains appealing for shoppers who want a spacious, well-equipped SUV with strong everyday versatility.

It has everything I was looking for in an SUV and I saved a ton of money due to Honda not selling over MSRP. I looked at the Lexus SUV that is similar and the Pilot hands down is better and 20k cheaper.

This vehicle was a great choice for me as it provides the room and flexibility, I am looking for with downsizing from a full-size crew cab pickup.

Reviewed a 2024 Honda TrailSport AWD on Feb 25, 2024
Would have given it 5 stars but when I find after the fact that I spend 50k+ for a car that has a tow hitch but Honda can’t put in a wiring harness for it and I have to spend more money on that is disappointing, I test drove other vehicles that came with the harness and where cheaper. Gets me wondering what else did they go cheaper on. I enjoy it so far the car is great so far but that is just a thorn in my side.
