Is the 2024 Genesis G70 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns an 8.7/10 expert rating, and the overall package is strongest if you want a compact sport-luxury sedan that emphasizes driving enjoyment, upscale presentation, and standard safety tech.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

The overview and test-drive notes point to sharp styling, excellent build quality, great handling, and a brand-new engine option for this model year. The trade-offs are a snug cabin, limited interior storage, and a trunk that is tighter than some rivals.

If you care more about performance feel and standard equipment than maximum space, the G70 fits that use case well. The market also looks healthy, with 39.0% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is presented as a well-built compact luxury sedan with excellent build quality and a strong warranty-backed ownership proposition.

Its powertrain and chassis setup are described as robust, with the smaller engine called a “peach” and the car noted for taking abuse well in harder driving. The ownership picture is further helped by free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with a small cabin and the possibility of higher upkeep if you choose the more powerful setup.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis G70?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on cabin condition, cargo-area usability, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you expect. Pay extra attention to how the interior feels in person, since space and storage are recurring weak points.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The G70’s styling and cabin presentation are strong, but the base setup still leaves you with a snug interior and limited storage, so make sure the equipment level matches your expectations.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline four with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, and the lineup also includes a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both pair with an eight-speed automatic and are offered with RWD or AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane following assist. Available upgrades include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.
• Infotainment: Every G70 gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus over-the-air updates. Wireless smartphone mirroring is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-liter engine returns 24 mpg combined in RWD form and 23 mpg combined with AWD. The 3.3-liter engine returns 21 mpg combined in RWD and 20 mpg combined with AWD.

Which 2024 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is offered in 2 trim levels: Advanced and Sport Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the best-value choice if you want the least-expensive path into the G70 and still want the core strengths that define the car: strong power, sharp handling, and a long list of standard safety and tech features.
• Sport Prestige: This is the better pick if you want the more upscale, fully loaded feel and are willing to pay more for it.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with Highway Driving Assist and the core driver aids standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,039 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,043, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $32,067 sits slightly below last year's $34,619.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market appreciation.

If you keep the car clean, well maintained, and accident-free, you should be in a better position to preserve value. If you buy at the low end of the range, you also give yourself a better cushion against future depreciation.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns Good ratings from IIHS in crashworthiness, crash avoidance and mitigation, and a Marginal rating in child restraints.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and Highway Driving Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and lane following assist. Available upgrades include a blind view monitor, a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, and park-distance warning.

The child-restraint result is the main caveat to keep in mind if you regularly install car seats.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• A new, more powerful base engine arrives for this model year.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,577, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $32,067 average.
• It offers a polished, well-rounded small luxury-sedan character.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer engine and the strongest overall value case. If you’re price-sensitive and want a lower entry point, the 2023 is the better bargain.
