How much does the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD cost?

Prices have softened 8.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,362 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for a heavy-duty truck shopper.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2024 Sierra 3500HD’s appeal comes from its serious work capability paired with a more polished, feature-rich personality. It offers broad configuration flexibility, strong towing and hauling ability, and an upscale top-trim experience for buyers who want more than a basic work truck. The market also shows 31.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sierra 3500HD is presented as a truck built around capability, with a broad range of configurations and trailering-focused technology that supports demanding use. Its heavy-duty mission and upscale equipment make it appealing if you want a truck that can work hard and still feel refined. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual heavy-duty-truck tradeoff: higher complexity and cost if the truck has been used for serious towing or hauling.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report to confirm the truck’s background and verify that it matches the seller’s description. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, towing-related hardware, and any signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for frequent hauling or trailering. Focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, since heavy-duty trucks can vary a lot depending on how they were used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,362 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $65,919, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $65,919 sits slightly below last year's $72,238.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices keep easing. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s broad appeal and strong capability should help, but the current trend shows you should not expect appreciation to do the work for you. A well-kept example with desirable equipment and clean history should still be easier to move than one with signs of heavy wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93.8% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, clean inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2024 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 still looks like the better all-around choice for shoppers who want capability and a more polished feature set.
